Got a call asking whether there's a driveway here. Seemed a bit odd, so I've decided to just block any more calls coming from that number.

On 19th July 2023 at 18:04, I got a call from 0204 571 0123. It was another dodgy call, this time from someone calling himself John, claiming he was from The Driveway Centre. He insisted he knew I still had a driveway. Seriously? I live in a terraced house with the door right onto the pavement - where on earth would a driveway be? Maybe on the roof? Totally obvious scammer!

Got a second call from some bloke called John claiming he was from the driveway centre. He said he knew I had a driveway at my place, but I told him no and ended the call quickly. What’s weird is before John called, I had another call from a woman on a number quite similar who said she was my energy advisor. I hung up straight away on her, then the calls from John started pouring in. Definitely just annoying scam calls from some dodgy call centre!

Called me saying they were from 'Driveway magazine' and wanted to know the age of my driveway. When I joked and said it was 4000 years old, they just hung up on me. Bit strange, but who knows, maybe it really is that old!

Got a call from someone called Sam, said she was from Windows and Doors with some scrappage offer, supposedly no pressure. She said they were located in South West London. Then she mentioned her manager would ring me back in about an hour. Told her I wasn’t interested in the call and said I’d check them out online since it sounded dodgy. Right in the middle of me talking, she just cut the call. Bit fishy if you ask me.

Got a call from someone pretending to be from Windows, they must've known I was about to answer. I hardly ever get landline calls, so they asked me “Are you the owner of this house?” I just said NO, even though I am, and then the line went dead. Best just to deny it and hang up quick.

She's also phoned me from a bunch of other numbers like 0204 579 6676, 0204 587 2659 (twice even), 0204 586 2922, 0204 587 1854, 0204 579 7544, and 0204 587 1856. I’ve blocked all these, but they just keep coming with new ones.

I kept the phone off the hook, hoping they'd say something first. When nothing came, I just left it like that and figured they're the ones footing the bill.

Every day at the exact same time, my phone rings, even though I'm ex-directory. The numbers switch up just a bit each day - like 0204 571 0123 one day, then 0204 579 6676, or 0204 586 1846, and even 0204 586 1859. I blocked a bunch when this all started, but they’ve begun ringing again from new numbers. I’ve refused to pick up though.

Got a call with a really robotic voice talking about windows and doors. When I asked if it was an AI, she said she wasn’t a robot and something about being new at the job. I told her I didn’t want to deal with an AI and just hung up.

Got a call from someone saying, "Hi, this is Sam about your windows and doors." I just ended the call right away since I've had loads of random calls from folks with only their first names, usually pushing windows, doors, or loft insulation. Most times it’s just cold callers trying to sell stuff I didn’t ask for and don’t need. A fair few of them seem to be total scams. I’ve labelled this number as “Dangerous” but honestly, it’s hard to decide because it’s both sketchy and annoying. If it’s a sales pitch, it feels like harassment; if it’s a scam, then definitely dangerous.
