My 86 year old mum got a call about loft insulation from some bloke saying he was nearby and could pop round for a look. She’s pretty sharp though and told him straight to jog on. When she told me about it, I couldn’t help but think about those older folks who might not see through these tricks. Honestly, in 2022 Britain feels full of spivs and loan sharks. I really miss the 70s and 80s - back when jobs were proper, people were genuine, and families stuck together.

This guy’s called me a couple times on both my mobile and landline. I knew his voice straight away, and he was really rude asking if I was the homeowner - I mean, seriously? I asked him for his name and what company he was from, but he just kept talking over me. Not sure if it was a real person or some sort of recording. People need to be careful, especially if they're vulnerable or on their own!

I got a few annoying calls this week, like six or so, and they keep ringing super early, like 6.30 in the morning. I usually just ignore them, wish there was a way to stop these pests for good.

It felt like I was talking to some kind of auto-response machine, cos every time I asked the same question, the answers came out exactly the same. When I tried to find out the company’s name, all I caught was something like “green,” then the line started crackling badly. Not sure if it was just a dodgy connection or if they were trying to throw me off. The call seemed to be about energy stuff before they cut me off. My two cents - just don’t bother, hang up straight away and steer clear of whatever they’re selling.

I've had two calls from similar but different numbers. I'm on the do not call list and my number's ex-directory, so I shouldn't be getting these rings. Only people I know personally have my landline. Honestly, these jobbers must be desperate, they're really scraping the barrel. Feel a bit sorry for them, to be honest.
