2 yearsAbsolutely a fraudulent operation. I received a message that had the Microsoft logo plastered all over it, claiming to be from "Microsoft Windows Support". It popped up while I was casually surfing various websites, warning me about "trojan horses" infesting my device. Intrigued, I decided to call the number provided. The chap who picked up had a rather noticeable accent from one of the New Commonwealth countries and convinced me to fork out nearly £400 to sort the supposed issue. Thankfully, my bank and credit card companies caught on and blocked the transactions just in time. However, while he had control of my screen, he attempted to get me to access my online banking to make a direct payment. That’s when the alarm bells rang, and I quickly hung up. I then called my son over to investigate the computer, but he found no trace of any dodgy downloads or viruses.MicrosoftCommonwealth2 yearsReceived a call claiming to be from Microsoft, all about providing assistance for some trojan malware. In the end, it ended up costing me quite a bit of cash.MicrosoftvirtualgeekseuSpainBrendan2 yearsI got a notification on my laptop stating that it had been secured due to potential risks and advised me to get in touch with Microsoft using this number.Microsoft2 yearsI received a notification on my computer claiming it had been secured for safety purposes and urged me to get in touch with Microsoft using this number.MicrosoftSubmit Your Own Report (020 4524 4253)
