First, they pretended to be my phone company, then they spoofed their number to look like it was from Royal Bank of Scotland (my actual bank), asking me for personal info. They even posed as a loan firm at one point, which was the worst. They tricked me into thinking I’d been approved for a £1000 loan but to “activate” it, I had to send them £40 for insurance, which they promised would be returned with the loan money. I stupidly sent the £40, but thankfully my bank’s fraud team swooped in fast and froze my account before any money was taken out. Be very cautious - they’ll say anything to get you to trust them. The callers were so rude and full of themselves.
