4 yearsI received a barrage of calls the very next day after submitting an application for a payday loan. They posed as my mobile network provider, cunningly disguising their number to make it seem as though the Royal Bank of Scotland, my actual bank, was getting in touch with me. They requested sensitive information under false pretences. Initially, they pretended to be a loan provider, which turned out to be the most deceitful of all. They managed to convince me that I'd been approved for a £1,000 loan, but to ensure this loan was properly insured, I had to fork over £40, which was promised to be returned alongside the loan amount. Foolishly, I complied and sent the £40. Thankfully, my bank and their fraud department acted swiftly to secure my account before any money could be withdrawn. It’s critical to stay vigilant; they’ll go to great lengths to gain your trust. I must say, the attitude of these callers is simply infuriating - exceptionally rude and pompous, to say the least.
