They keep ringing our number over and over, then leave a message with some kind of cheesy music in the background. Tried telling my MP and the phone company, but neither seems bothered to track these annoying scam calls.

Somebody called me about making financial investments, claiming I had signed up with them and needed to activate my account. I told them I hadn’t a clue about any of it. Then they launched into their usual sales pitch, so I just ended the call and blocked their number.

Got a call from them but no one said a word. I rang back and an answerphone mentioned they were doing a survey with homeowners. So I cheekily gave away all my bank info straight away - figured if anyone deserves it, it’s these scammers, poor things.

They wanted my bank details for a washing machine warranty refund, but I just ended the call instead.

I’m Henry, answered the phone and was asked if I was Mrs (correct name said). I said yes, then the guy said something about a refund. I told him we didn’t want anything and he just hung up. My mum’s 95 and I’m really fed up with all these calls. I can’t just take the phone away though, she really needs it.

Got a call from 02045203543, a bloke who said his name was Peter Hamilton, claiming to offer a refund on washing machine insurance. Asked me for my bank info, but I told him to send a cheque instead. Didn’t even have washing machine insurance anyway! He insisted they couldn't do cheques and really needed my bank details. I started telling him straight up that it sounded dodgy, but all he could say was "no no no no." I kept talking over him until finally he gave in and hung up. Quite the cheek! x

The number in question called me, but thankfully they hung up right before I picked up. After seeing all the bad reviews here, it’s clear it’s some sort of scam targeting people around Manchester. Just ignore whatever they say, it’s not genuine.

Got a call from this number earlier, claiming I was owed a £119 refund on a washing machine warranty. My machine is about a year old and still covered, so I immediately suspected it was a scam. Got a call from a man with an Indian accent just saying 'Hello'. I usually don’t pick up these calls, so I hung on for a bit. Then the call just dropped. We've also been getting calls off a nearly identical number, 02045203540, which feels like one of those refund scams. Such a pain!

Got a call for a refund about a washing machine insurance I never even had, 'cos my machine is ancient. I try to keep them chatting for ages; the longer they talk to me, the less chance they’ve got to scam others. Told the bloke to sling his hook and hung up. My tip? Waste their time as much as you can - might stop someone else from falling for it.

I've been receiving incessant calls from some lady touting a new washing machine. Just to clarify, the last time I bought one was back in 1984! It's becoming quite the nuisance. I kindly ask that whoever is responsible for these calls put a halt to it, as I have a couple of hospital appointments and my health isn't at its best. Cheers, Ian.

Got a call saying I was due a refund of £119, then they asked me to give my bank info. I told her no way, just put it back on the card I used. She claimed GDPR rules stop them from doing that and said no bank details, no refund. I just said fine, no refund then, and ended the call. Seriously, how do folks like this sleep at night?

Got a call about my washing machine and they said they’d post me a cheque for £119 odd. Then they started asking for my bank info! Honestly, you can’t help but chuckle, but it’s quite worrying since some folks still fall for these scams. What’s Ofcom doing about all this? Not much, it seems. I’ve blocked the number now, but I’m sure they’ll just ring back from a different one with some new trick another time.

Pretty sure this was a scam. They claimed to be calling from London but the way they said "ma'am" gave away an accent that sounded more like South Africa. It’s like they’re hiding behind a UK phone number. When I rang them back, the caller ID showed a company called 'TPS Services', which is kinda funny since in the UK TPS means Telephone Preference Service - the thing we use to stop scam calls! Judging by the noise in the background, it sounded like a busy call centre just cold-calling people about some 'Homecare' insurance.

Received a call early doors asking me to verify my name. Naturally, I inquired about the caller’s identity. No joy there, as he refused to divulge anything. He claimed there was an attempt to withdraw £190 from my account, and when I probed for details, he mentioned something about GDPR preventing him from sharing that information. Strangely, he then requested I confirm my address, which he already had. I declined, stating I wasn't inclined to share that info, and promptly hung up. What a delightful way to kick off my Sunday!

02045203543 What a nuisance! I was rudely awoken at 8:10 on a Sunday morning by this chap. Not only could he barely get my name right, but he also claimed I was due a refund and needed to provide my bank details. The cheek! He wanted to take a paltry sum from my account as some sort of verification, promising it would be returned. Yeah, like I’m falling for that! He was incredibly pushy, insisting repeatedly that there was nothing dodgy about the call, and his tone became increasingly aggressive when I questioned him. When I asked if he could send me a written communication, he rather unhelpfully said he didn’t have my address. Well, isn’t that convenient? It’s as clear as day this was a SCAM. I've blocked the number, but I truly wish there was a way to catch these scammer types and put a stop to their nonsense once and for all.

This Sunday morning at about 8:45, I was rudely awakened by a phone call. Groggily, I answered with a half-hearted "Hello." The caller had an unmistakable Asian accent, suggesting he was likely from a bustling call centre. He inquired if I was Mr Anthony, but given that I am quite obviously female and a bit dozy, my voice probably came across as rather low and sluggish. Mr Anthony happens to be my ex-husband of nearly two decades, and it was clear the caller was clueless about the distinction between a first name and a surname! Even in my irritated and bleary-eyed state, it became evident this was one of those scams, so I hung up in frustration, muttering some choice words under my breath. To top it all off, the number didn’t even show up. Just a heads up to others-stay alert!

I seldom pick up calls from unfamiliar numbers, but on this occasion, I was a bit preoccupied and inadvertently answered. An individual, whose accent I found rather challenging to decipher, mentioned something pertaining to my washing machine. He claimed they were prepared to reimburse me £180 and inquired whether I'd prefer to receive it via debit or credit card. When I suggested a cheque, he seemed rather taken aback. He then asked me to check my bank statement for a reference that sounded like IBN (if I recall correctly), to which I firmly responded that I had no intention of disclosing any banking information!

I recently found myself in a rather amusing situation regarding a washing machine insurance policy that doesn't even exist! They were quite eager to process a refund and asked for my bank details. Unfortunately for them, I don’t possess a bank account. So, I suggested a postal order instead! I kept them on the line for a good 20 minutes, thoroughly enjoying the banter while they tried to figure things out. It’s quite entertaining to outsmart these fraudsters at their own game, isn’t it?

The caller referred to me as Mr followed by my first name, which struck me as a bit too familiar. They had my address on file, which was alarming in itself. Turning to the subject at hand, the individual claimed they were reimbursing me £119 and a few pence due to an overcharge on a warranty for a washing machine I’ve never owned. I acted quite pleased and requested a cheque, only to be met with their insistence that it was out of the question, and that I would need to divulge my sort code and bank account details instead. When I questioned their judgement, implying they couldn’t expect me to fall for such a ruse, they promptly ended the call!

I’m trying to get back £119 as I've apparently been charged too much. This is the third time I’ve been contacted by that same phone number. So this number rang me around 5.30 on a Saturday evening, the bloke said his name was David - bit odd, they always use English names but sound like they’re from Pakistan or somewhere. He claimed he was sorting a refund for some warranty on an appliance I supposedly had. Of course, he wanted my bank info straight away. As usual, I called it out as a scam and hung up. Then they had the nerves to call back two more times! Proper thick-skinned scammers if you ask me. Don’t fall for it! By the way, I’ve never even got any cover on any appliance at all. Total scam.
