A little while ago, I got a call from this number. A woman with an Asian accent said she was checking up about insurance for my household appliances. Thing is, I don’t have any insurance for my appliances at all.

If this was about home insurance then I think it's just spam, they didn't even leave a message.

I received a phone call from someone who seemed to know my name. They were on about appliance insurance and claimed it was time for a renewal. The thing is, I've never taken out any insurance!

Got one of those Indian scammers on the line again, but this time it was just silence. What’s odd is that when I tried calling the number back, it wouldn’t go through. Proper dodgy stuff.

The number showed up on my caller ID, but when I picked up, it just went straight to voicemail, so I ended up hanging up. Having the ID definitely helps decide whether to pick up or leave it.

After using a site yesterday to compare car insurance prices, I started getting calls the very next day from shady folks trying to sell me dodgy domestic appliance warranties. I hadn’t had any scam calls for months before this. It’s clear that these "price comparison" websites must be leaking our details through some dishonest workers. It can’t be just a coincidence, it’s happened way too often. So watch out if you use these sites!

I picked up the phone and the call just dropped straight away! I get loads of calls from those dodgy domestic appliances scams all the time. It’s so annoying!

I got a call saying my kitchen appliances were about to expire or something. The woman couldn't even say what brand mine were. When I said it sounded like a scam, she got really rude and started shouting at me. Told her to stop calling me and to piss off.

Check out the two comments below this one for a step-by-step guide on how to handle these scam calls. If all the people who receive these dodgy calls and texts across the UK actually did something about it, the police and government would have to take notice and crack down on these rip-offs. Don’t just hope someone else will deal with it - it’s pretty quick to do yourself. I’ve bookmarked the 'action fraud' site and even dropped my MP an email, got quite an unexpected reply too. But it won’t work if I’m the only one trying.

Got a call from 02045203012 about an appliance warranty renewal. Told the bloke where to stick it in no uncertain terms, and of course he just hung up on me. Classic scam!

I had a rather dodgy phone call from 02045204142, which I quickly realised was from some con artist. They were attempting to pull a fast one, claiming to offer cheap insurance for my household appliances. It raised my suspicions straight away, as it was all a bit too good to be true. After their relentless spiel, I decided enough was enough and terminated the call. Definitely not falling for that one!

Got a call from an Asian lady named Jenny claiming to be from some domestic appliance company. She said since I’m a loyal customer, they’d cut the price on my appliance warranty. Thing is, I’ve never even paid for any warranty with them before. Total scam - they just want you to hand over your bank details. Watch out!

I received a rather daft call from someone who clearly wasn’t a native speaker. They rang my landline, rambling on about my home appliance insurance that’s apparently nearing its end. Their English was dreadful, and they were fishing for my bank details under the guise of extending my coverage. I told them to quit harassing me on this number and suggested they send me a proper letter instead. At that point, I could sense their irritation creeping in - quite comical, really!

Yet again, it’s the same old story - a load of tricksters trying to pinch cash off folks who aren’t looking. Rather than spending their time drowning in celebrations and faffing about turning simple numbers into some prehistoric nonsense, those muppets down in Drowning Street ought to be sorting out this mess. But honestly, no matter how you slice it, a gallon is still a gallon, even if it’s filled with something as grim as puke.

I received a call from this number at half past two on the 30th of May. It’s clearly a dodgy scam, most likely fishing for bank information or pushing some pointless insurance policy. A woman with a foreign accent informed me that our appliance insurance was up for renewal and was about to lapse.
Without a doubt, it's a scam since we don't even have such insurance in the first place!

Had a call from Jessica regarding my home appliance insurance. Honestly fed up with these persistent nuisances; they keep using different phone numbers to bother me. Got a call from someone claiming to be from the council's repair service and housing associations. When they asked which housing association I was with, I just said, "How am I supposed to know?" Received a phone call from someone claiming to represent housing repairs, inquiring whether our property required any maintenance. They seemed to know both my previous name and my current address, which shouldn't be connected in any way. It feels like there’s been a breach of data protection somewhere along the line. Received a call from someone claiming to be from a housing authority inquiring about damage and leaks.
