Got a call from 02045204522 but when I answered, there was just silence on the line, no one speaking. Bit odd really.

Got called by some scammer today, totally dodgy.

They didn’t bother to leave a voicemail.

Got a call from some bloke using dodgy internet connection (kept pausing) and a pretend phone number. He claimed I was on the Telephone Preference Service to stop spam calls, but then said there was a problem with the line. I just ended the call. Seeing other comments about the same number, it’s clear it was a scam trying to steal bank info. Definitely sketchy and risky.

This was definitely a scam trying to rip me off. They kept calling me, even though I never asked for anything. Total hassle with those annoying unwanted calls.

Some dodgy insurance place called me up saying they could sort out my compensation, but I reckon it’s all a load of rubbish.

I had a rather strange encounter with a chap on the phone, who sounded distinctly Indian. He assured me that all my pesky calls would come to an end and that I'd only hear from my friends and family on the line. He introduced himself as being from something called the 'Telephone Exchange,' a term that was completely foreign to me, and I mentioned that to him. Just like that, he cut the line! Quite an odd experience, I must say.

They claimed they could put a stop to annoying calls but asked for my bank info to 'confirm' things. Turns out, they just want to get a direct debit going to drain your account. Proper scam!
5 years
Some bloke claiming to be from a bank asked for my card number, but I just ended the call straight away.

I got a call from someone with an Asian accent saying they were from the UK’s Telephone Preference Service. They told me my card had expired and asked for the expiry date. They also said there were some errors with my phone line. Don’t fall for this, just hang up and never share your info - it’s definitely a scam.

A person saying they were from “call guardian” tried to trick me into giving my bank and credit card info. I've already notified Action Fraud about it and I'd really advise others to report them too.

They rang but didn’t bother leaving any message, so I’m pretty sure it was just some sort of scam.

An hour after this so-called scammer promised I'd stop getting nuisance calls, guess what? The phone rang again! Total joke.

Got a call from a bloke named Neil, who said he was going to stop nuisance calls. He mentioned I had paid by direct debit, which I’m not sure about, and then tried talking about my card, but he got the expiry date wrong. I just let him keep talking, but suddenly he just cut off and ended the call.

I answered a call only for it to hang up straight away, leaving me without so much as a greeting. This has occurred on two occasions today alone! Quite peculiar, if you ask me.

Got a call from an Asian bloke saying my block calls was expired and he needed my phone number to fix it. Like, if he called me, he obviously knew my number! I might be old, but I'm not daft - total scam!

Got a call asking about my mum’s phone bill, but it turned out to be a scam. Don’t fall for it!

As soon as I picked up and the answerphone kicked in, the caller just hung up.

Got a sketchy phone call from some guy with an Asian accent claiming he was from Call Guardian. He said they’re working with providers like Sky and BT to stop marketing and scam calls from coming through. I asked a few questions and he started giving all sorts of wrong info, which made it obvious it was a total con. The irony? He’s calling me trying to convince me scam calls are blocked - when he was clearly one himself! What a muppet, honestly couldn’t believe it.

Didn’t pick up the phone, they called out of the blue. Ended the call quickly and no voicemail was given. Most likely just a scam.

I picked up the call, greeted them, but when I didn’t say much more, they simply ended the conversation. How rude! 😡

This number bombarded my mother-in-law with five calls on the afternoon of Friday, 19th November 2021, demanding her debit card information to prevent her phone service from getting cut off. The caller had an Indian accent and was incredibly pushy about obtaining her card details. He even seemed to know who her phone provider was and ominously claimed he could disconnect it on the spot! My mother-in-law, who’s 80, now feels harassed and intimidated. I've blocked the number, yet they keep trying to get through! I finally picked up one call and cheekily asked the caller if his mother was proud of what he did for a living-he hung up instantly!

I reckon that was a scam call.

This bloke claimed he was with some call blocking company, but then told me I had to pay to get their service. Sounds like a total rip-off to me.

Isn't it amusing how these telemarketers often end up sounding quite irritable? I knew I had to terminate the call as soon as his tone shifted-barely gave him twenty seconds before I said goodbye! Scams and dodgy sales pitches are two a penny these days.

I received a rather silent call earlier, likely from my telephone service provider. I simply ended the call.

I was asked whether I received any annoying calls, and I responded affirmatively, mentioning they were among the culprits. Clearly just another scam artist. When I pointed that out to him, he resorted to calling me a rather unsavoury name before abruptly ending the call!

Claimed he was going to put an end to pesky calls for good. Had all my details-name, address, and phone number-plus knew I pay my bill reliably each month via direct debit. However, he insisted on me confirming details from my card, which I, of course, flatly refused. He couldn't assist me further despite possessing my information but needed that verification to continue. In the end, he just hung up on me.
