The number was unfamiliar to me, so I just let it ring off. There wasn’t any voicemail left either. Since no one I know uses that number, I figured it was probably some kind of scam.

Got a call from an Asian woman who wanted to speak to me by name. When I answered and asked who it was, she just dropped the call. Bit strange really.

I tried to ask the lady with the Asian accent who was on the phone, but honestly, I couldn’t make out a single word she was saying. So, I didn’t get the chance to quiz her like I usually do, asking if her folks are proud of what she’s doing for work!

I’ve had a silent call just now, so I've gone ahead and notified OFCOM about it. The more complaints they gather, the sooner they can take action and ideally bring those responsible to justice.

I didn’t answer as I didn’t know the number, just let it ring out to voicemail. It kept ringing for ages but in the end, no one left a message. Decided to look it up here and felt relieved I didn’t pick up. Totally with you - what’s the use of TPS when these annoying calls still come through?

I suspected that I was dealing with a scam when I picked up the phone, but I decided to humour them and see where it would lead. The individual on the other end of the line claimed to represent the postcode lottery, cheerfully informing me that I'd won some vouchers for flights within Europe. They quickly requested my bank details, insisting they needed to deposit a mere £1 into my account before I could receive my ‘winnings’. I casually mentioned that I didn’t have my bank information handy and suggested they send me an email instead. However, they persisted in attempting to extract my details for a good few minutes, applying considerable pressure. It's truly alarming how such tactics can ensnare those who might not be well-informed or sufficiently cautious.

I received a phone call from someone who claimed I’d won a discount card that would be sent to me by post. They inquired about my age and repeated my address multiple times, which felt a bit fishy. Then, out of the blue, they informed me that I’d also snagged a bonus holiday for four to Europe! The catch? They insisted on needing my bank details to secure a £1 deposit. I told them quite firmly that I don't possess a bank account and offered to receive a cheque for the pound instead. Their tone shifted dramatically, and they accused me of not wanting the prize. A word of caution: don’t share your bank details over the phone. This stinks of a scam!

My husband picked up a call from someone offering discounts and they asked for his email. I took the phone from him to get to the bottom of it. Upon trying to reach the numbers, I’m met with a disconnection and a rather elusive signal. The digits 02045201585 and 02045201587 deliver a recorded message stating, "The number you’ve dialled cannot be recognised. Please verify and attempt once more." So I asked them why they kept ringing me, and they actually said, "We're just here to piss you off, you old bat." Can't believe someone would talk to me like that!

No one spoke when I answered, just complete silence.

I really appreciate all the comments from everyone. It’s clear to me now that I made the right choice by hanging up immediately.

I simply wished to have a word with my father, who's reached the grand age of 90. However, as soon as they realised it was me on the line, they promptly ended the call.

I received a call informing me that I qualified for a discount card, applicable at various prominent retailers and eateries, and they were keen to know my age. Once I disclosed it, the caller excitedly mentioned that I’d also snagged a fortnight’s holiday in a five-star villa of my choice anywhere in the world, but they just needed my email address. Naturally, I inquired about the company’s location, and they claimed to be based in Leeds. When I requested a contact number to verify the details, suddenly the call was cut off. Quite suspicious, wouldn’t you agree?

I received a rather dubious call earlier today from the Postcode Lottery, claiming I’d won a holiday voucher valid for any destination in Europe alongside an additional £300 for my travels. They had both my name and address, which raised my suspicions. Realising it was likely a con, I ended up speaking to a so-called supervisor who congratulated me on my ‘win’. However, they quickly asked for my bank details to supposedly process the £300 payment. When I suggested they simply send me a cheque instead, they abruptly hung up. Please be wary and don’t get caught in this deceitful web-it's undoubtedly a SCAM!

Got a call from this number but be careful, it doesn’t match any real allocated number range. Sounds like a postcode lottery scam to me, and they’re probably faking where they’re calling from. Keep your guard up if you get a ring from this one!

I couldn't really get what the person was saying, their English was pretty poor.

This number keeps ringing me. Whenever I try calling back, it just says the voicemail inbox is full and can’t take any messages anymore.

No message left, pretty sure it was just a scam call.

They said I’d won something from the postcode lottery or something like that.

Got a call from some scammer claiming I'd won a discount card in their postcard lottery. Thing is, I’m not even part of any postcode lottery!

Got a call from 02045201586, and the lady was speaking super fast, I barely caught what she said. Something about a postcode lottery or some kind of code, and asked if I wanted to cancel it. She even hinted at needing my bank details. Absolutely not, thanks!

Turns out we were entered into some lottery we never signed up for. They just wanted our bank info and that was it. Totally a scam!

Just got a call from 02045201586 a few mins ago saying I’d won a gift card. The weird thing is, they somehow knew my name even though I’m ex-directory. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

Tried ringing the landline but just hung up without saying anything or leaving a message. Feels like it could be another dodgy scam call?

I was informed that I'd hit the jackpot with the Postcode Lottery. Naturally, I figured they’d ask for my bank details to transfer a tidy sum of cash my way. At least, that's what they claimed!
