I received a call from a woman who bombarded me with all sorts of inquiries. She claimed to be conducting a survey for NS&I, but the questions seemed a bit off the beaten track and dragged on for what felt like ages. Initially, she addressed me by my name, yet curiously enough, she asked me to confirm my name at the end of the conversation. While she didn’t delve into any personal information, she was quite keen on my views about using online banking services, which left me a tad puzzled about their true intentions. At one point, she inquired if they could get in touch with me again and seemed chuffed to determine if I required any assistance from family regarding my financial matters. It gave me the distinct impression they were probing to see if I might be in a vulnerable situation. Warning bells ringing! An Indian chap just called claiming to be from a company with an acronym I didn't recognise. I asked for a name, and right away I sensed that something was off - totally a scam call! He dodged my question about his name and then rattled off two completely different ones. When it came to spelling his surname, he was completely lost. These people are definitely up to no good, so be vigilant!
