Saturday morning, 9th July 2022 around 11:30am, I got a call on my landline from number 0204-509-9676. There was a long pause before any voice could be heard. I stayed quiet and just listened - caught the faint sound of a man, maybe Asian, seemingly chatting with someone, probably a coworker. I left the phone on and played some talk radio out loud into the handset. After about a minute, the call ended by itself. Reading other comments here, I'm really relieved I didn’t answer or say anything. Shows why sites like ‘WHO CALLED ME’ are so useful.

Just invested a rather frustrating 17 minutes engaged in a farcical conversation with these so-called 'engineers' from Virgin Media. It got to the point where they were urging me to download an application that would grant them remote control over my computer. They resorted to the classic move of pointing out perfectly benign warnings in the event viewer, claiming they needed to 'clear out the rubbish' from my router to enhance its performance. Then a guy took over, said he'd help me fix the issue step by step. It did seem like it was from Virgin Media, as I know they often have Filipino support staff. I’ve been caught out by similar calls before though, so I just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from Virgin Media saying there was an issue with my internet. At first, it was this woman with a Filipino accent and I could hardly make out what she was saying. Then some bloke took over, going on about steps to fix the problem. It did kinda seem like it was actually VM since I know they hire folks from the Philippines. But I’ve been caught out by scams like this before, so I just hung up straight away.
