Got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent claiming to be with Virgin, said there was an issue with our internet speed. My husband pretended to go along with it and said yes. The guy told him to hit the Windows and R keys together. My hubby said he did (he didn’t really). Then the caller asked what showed up on the screen, we said the login page. Next, he asked which key sat beside the Windows key. We replied “Fn”, which we meant as “F***ing Nuisance!” Proper scam artist if you ask me!

Just then, a notification popped up on my security app warning me of a problem, so I thought they were legit. I was persuaded to send money from my bank to theirs. They got me to let them access my computer, telling me it was a one-way connection, only me connecting to their server, not the other way round. That was totally false. Honestly, don’t fall for it like I did, trust me.
