They attempted to swindle me by claiming they had successfully secured a compensation payment of £2,550, along with an additional £1,550 interest, from my supposedly nonexistent bank. When I mentioned the "Bank of Paris" (which is a figment), they didn’t even flinch. They proceeded to hand me a reference number and an ID number, insisting they would never request any personal bank or card details, yet mentioned something about the cash being in a “wallet”. Then, they passed the call over to some chap with a foreign accent who asked for the ID and reference numbers, and I made a complete mess of them. Perplexed, he asked for my phone number to cross-check. Subsequently, he dished out yet more ID and reference numbers that didn't match the originals at all. To top it off, he had the audacity to imply that I wasn’t computer savvy enough and offered to assist me in accessing this so-called wallet. He requested that I switch my phone to loudspeaker mode (which seemed a bit odd) and encouraged me to download an app called Anydesk from the Play Store. I quickly realised this was a tactic for him to gain remote access to my device to pilfer sensitive information like banking details and passwords.
