Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent, and I could barely catch what she was saying. She asked if I’d shopped online at Tesco lately and claimed I’d won some kind of prize. Then she went on to check my address, so they clearly already have my info - phone number and home address. She also wanted to know my age group and if I had any pains or health issues. I just hung up! Does Tesco really share customers’ details like that? Feels dodgy, like they might be fishing for more personal stuff, maybe bank details or DOB. Wouldn’t trust it one bit.

Got a call from some guy with an Asian accent asking about the last person who had my number. I told him that person doesn't live here anymore and she just went 'alright, I’ll call back then'. I wasn't having any of that, told her to piss off.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent claiming she could remove me from some list to stop the annoying calls. Then out of nowhere, she started asking about my health insurance. I told her she didn’t need that info just to take me off the list. Ended up blocking the number and hanging up straight away.

Honestly, I’d recommend you do the same because answering these calls lets them know the number is active, which just means they might sell it on to other scammers. These days, scams like this are getting more common, so if you don’t already have one, maybe get a phone with caller ID. Also, if a number looks unfamiliar, just jot it down and have a quick look online for it. My rule is simple: if it’s not someone I know, I just don’t answer.

I got a call from a woman who said she was a manager at BT and she started by reading out my old address. When I pointed that out, she asked for my new address, but I told her no way. Avoid answering these calls, everyone. Someone rang me claiming to be from BT, Sky, and TalkTalk, saying I’d won a £50 hamper. I joked back that if she really was representing all three and giving me a hamper, then I must be Santa Claus himself up at the North Pole, since they never hand out freebies like that! I made it clear I wasn’t daft enough to share any info and that I was recording the call for the police. Unsurprisingly, the line just cut off! What a shocker!

Today, 17/11/17, at about 3.25pm, we got a call from someone claiming to be with Morrisons saying we'd won £50. They tried to check our address but mentioned an old one that we don’t live at anymore. My husband just ended the call straight away!
