Got a call from 02039362175 claiming to be Homecare. They wanted to chat about an appliance insurance they said I signed up for ages ago, like three years back. I told them I never took anything like that, and when I asked them for the contract details and what was included, they just hung up on me. Bit dodgy if you ask me.

Just like the others mentioned, this guy said he was ringing from some homecare place and claimed I was owed £119 back. Asked me for my bank IBAN, which I told him straight up was my account number. Then he started going on about GDPR stuff even though he hadn’t checked who I was properly and I told him I wasn’t the person he wanted. Proper dodgy call.

Got a call very similar to the one mentioned before, asking about a refund of £119 but it came from another number. This time the number was 01615202136. Pretty sure it’s the same sort of scam.

This number rang my elderly mum, she’s 87, and the person said it was her insurance company, which apparently is RBS. They claimed she’d paid too much and needed her bank details to sort a refund. Mum believed it straight away and handed over the info. Luckily, we got in touch with RBS quick enough to warn them about a likely scam.

SCAM ALERT! Some utterly daft woman kept bugging me for my bank info, saying she’d refund me. After a bit, she actually asked if I thought she was daft! Couldn't help but laugh. She seemed proper confused by my Chinese accent. Pathetic jokers but seriously dodgy.

They called up asking for someone who doesn’t live here, so I never even got to hear the usual appliance scam spiel. It’s crazy reading some of the comments about MPs trying to put an end to these calls. Honestly, whats the use of the TPS if scamming calls just breeze past it like it’s nothing?

Watch out - it’s a SCAM! If you get calls like this, you should report them. Just search for ‘action fraud’ and head over to the ‘police.uk’ website. There’s a section called ‘report a phishing attempt’ where you can find loads of useful info. Make sure you read everything carefully and then add the scam number and any details you’ve got straight into the police records. Stay safe!

Got a call this Sunday at 8:55 in the morning from someone claiming I had a refund on my washing machine warranty from Homecare. They reckoned I’d been overcharged by £119. I got a call from what sounded like a call centre in India. After a pause, the woman said “Jennifer” and then confirmed my last name, which she already knew, and said she was from Homecare. I quickly told her she had no right to call me and that I wasn’t falling for any scams. She just hung up. This is the fourth time in a few days I’ve had one of these annoying calls. I find them really invasive and worrying. I just don’t get why there's no way to stop these firms from cold-calling people. I’m dead annoyed, especially since it was a Sunday.

Got a call about a supposed refund for my washing machine warranty. They said they couldn't send me a cheque, had to get my bank details instead. When I told them I was gonna report it as a scam, the supervisor just hung up on me. Definitely dodgy.

I just let it ring, didn’t pick up.

Got a call early Sunday at like 7:50am, but I didn’t pick up. A number pretty close to it called me a couple days back too.

As soon as I said “hello,” they hung up. Bit worrying, really.

Got calls from 02039897244 about some “refund” of £119 for washing machine insurance overpayment. They rang me twice this week, trying the same line. I told the guy if they want to refund me to send me something in writing and a cheque, coz I don’t deal with money stuff over the phone. He got a bit irate when I refused to give info and kept talking over me. Best thing is to just hang up on these crooks straight away.

I answered, but all I heard was background noise from some call centre. No one spoke. Ended up hanging up straight away.

Received a call regarding a refund for my washing machine warranty. They requested my bank details, including my IBAN, supposedly for “verification purposes.” It was quite a raucous environment, and while I discussed with both the caller and his supervisor, I noticed they didn’t have any British accents at all.

Didn’t pick up the call; they didn’t bother leaving a message on the answering machine either. Seems like it’s likely a scam.

I received a call from someone with an Asian accent claiming I was entitled to a £120 refund for a warranty. I then hung up.

Got a bit of a situation regarding a refund for my washing machine warranty. The thing is, I don’t actually have any cover for a washing machine at all. They asked for my bank details to process a refund, which I found a bit odd. If they genuinely took the money by error, surely they’d have the correct account info to refund it automatically, wouldn’t they? Honestly, just hanging up seems like the smartest move! πŸ˜„

Got a call early Sunday morning, about 8:17. When I picked up, there was nothing but silence on the other end.

SCAM ALERT... They called saying they needed my bank details to give me back £119, said it was because they accidentally took out twice the amount for washing machine insurance. Totally dodgy!

On the morning of Sunday 20th March 2022 at about 8.45, I got a call from someone who wouldn't tell me their name. They claimed I'd been charged too much for my washing machine repair cover and said they were going to give me a refund. They asked me to confirm my address. I told them if they already had my address, then just put the money back in my account. I also made it clear I knew it was a scam and told them to stop ringing me.

Got a call from this number at 8.30 on a Sunday. When I asked the lady why she was ringing me, she just went quiet. Then out of nowhere she starts calling me stupid, drops a rude word and just hangs up. What a delight!

I didn’t pick up, but later I checked the answering machine. There was loads of noise behind the voice, and a guy calling out my name wanting to talk to me. After a while, the call just ended. Pretty clear it was a scam.

Got a call from an Asian lady claiming I was owed £119 on some washing machine insurance. She asked for all my personal info, which seemed dodgy. I told her if it’s a refund just post me a cheque, no need for my details. She just ended the call right away. Sounds like a proper scam to me, be careful and don’t share your details with these lot!

This number has been ringing me loads lately. Every time I answer, there's just silence, then it cuts off right away. It’s happened quite a few times each week now, usually earlier in the day than this occasion!

Got a call from a 02039 number again today. I didn’t answer and there was no voicemail afterwards. Seeing loads of complaints about this same number, it really looks like one of those scam calls. Just watch out if you get called by them!

They attempted to reimburse me for a cover meant for my washing machine. They requested my credit card information to facilitate a refund of £100. It’s blatantly a scam-do not share your credit card info under any circumstances!
