Got a call claiming to be my phone company offering a 45% discount. They said they’d send a code for me to give back, but I reckon if you do, they might be able to get into your phone or something. I just played along, pretending to be interested and asked them stuff they really should know, but obviously didn’t. Was quite entertaining actually.

02039677026 Just like the other person said, I got a call claiming I’d won a word search competition from ITV. I gave them my bank details and they charged me £1.95. Luckily I checked online and found out this number is linked to a scam. I cancelled my card straight away. My bank said I was lucky to have online banking or this could’ve been much worse. Really disappointed in ITV for not stopping these scammers. They should just stop all these competitions if it means people get caught out!

Quick update about that scam call from 02039850001. I told them it was from the ITV competition, but after ringing ITV, turns out it’s not one of theirs. The comp is called CASH PUDDLES, nothing to do with ITV at all. I’m planning to contact Advertising Standards tomorrow and report it. The competition might be legit, or maybe they’ve been hacked. Either way, these calls are really risky.

Got a call from this number earlier today, some woman telling me I’d got a chance to win £17,500 from a wordsearch prize game they'd supposedly shown on ITV. She said the winner would be revealed on Friday 6th March, but then quickly tried to get me to order wordsearch books with £1.99 postage and packing. When I told her I wasn’t interested and that you can actually buy wordsearch books with prizes at certain shops, her tone totally changed - like she didn’t care at all that I was on a shortlist for £17,500, just trying to fob me off with some dodgy spiel.

Got a call from 02039850001 about an ITV word search competition I’d entered not long ago. The lady on the phone had a northern English accent. She asked me how I’d spend the £17,000 prize, then tried sell me a word search book for £1.95. I told her I wasn’t interested. Don’t think ITV should be informed about this?

Got a missed call and decided to check this site to see who it could be. After reading the reviews, I reckon it’s connected to some ITV contest. Honestly, I wouldn’t bother answering or chatting with what looks like a dodgy scam asking for your bank info over £1.95 - totally sketchy if you ask me!

I received a missed call earlier, so I decided to return it. A chap on the other end informed me that I had successfully answered a TV word search, which has now entered me into a prize draw for a whopping £17,500, set to be announced next Friday, 6th March 2020. When I inquired about how the winnings would be distributed, the lad mentioned that it would be via cheque and assured me I’d be notified if I emerged victorious. He wished me luck as we wrapped up our conversation.

Got a call not long ago telling me I was entered in a draw to win £10,000, they asked what I’d spend it on and all that. Then they started asking for my bank details to pay £1.95 for a book! Seriously, who asks for cash over the phone just to send a book? Proper scam! The bloke kept pestering me, going on about paying by Visa, debit or Mastercard like ten times. In the end, I just muted myself and thankfully he dropped the call!

They told me I made it to the next stage of some TV word search contest where you could win £10,000, and for an additional £6000, I had to solve a puzzle on the back of a letter they sent me today. The call would cost £5.40. It’s run by a company named Churchcastle or something like that. It felt dodgy when they said actors would be hired to promote the winners. These con artists seriously should be jailed, especially when they target elderly folks like us.

Why do these auto-diallers keep ringing me? Where on earth do they even find our numbers? The UK really ought to either crack down hard on cold calls or just ban them completely. It should be against the law to have these telemarketing or telesales calls interrupting people like this.

Got a call a few days ago saying I was through to the final stage and they’d let me know if I’d won by 30th January. 30th passed with no sign of anything, then I got a missed call the next day which I decided not to answer. Today, a letter landed through the door saying I’d actually won, but there’s this last word puzzle to solve to claim a total of £16,000. Thing is, you’ve got to ring back with your answer, and it costs £3.50 a minute to call. So how long do you reckon it takes? If anyone has gone further than me, I’d be interested to hear what happened.

Called twice, ended up at the final step but for £1.95 I could’ve just done a word search. Dialled 02039850001, they wouldn’t share any info over the phone. When I asked if it was possible to do online, they just gave me a company search number? Bit confusing really.

I honestly fell for this, I should’ve known better, but since it was shown on a well-known TV channel, I assumed it was genuine. I even joked with the caller about them maybe being a scammer. I gave my card details for the £1.95 postage, then checked my bank this morning and saw they’d taken another £8.25 without asking. I’ve spoken to my bank, and thankfully they’ve given me back the £8.25 and frozen my card. I’m too embarrassed to tell my daughters how daft I’ve been. If I do end up winning the £10,000, I’ll be thrilled, but I’m not holding out much hope.

I came across this rather intriguing competition involving a TV wordsearch. Apparently, I've been chosen as a potential winner of a fabulous £10,000! The catch? Just £1.99 for postage will get me a catalogue showcasing a variety of other competitions. Seems like quite the gamble!
6 years
Really strange. I only search these numbers to see if they’re scammers trying to get cash outta you. I wouldn’t bother if they said they sent me 6000 quid! So I’m super wary about the only ‘SAFE’ review being from someone who says they won 6000 quid! I’d personally just dodge it, block the number, and send back anything they post me about ‘wordsearch’.

He told me I’d made it to the next stage of a competition I supposedly entered through a TV advert. You had to text the secret word "Fireworks" - if anyone recalls that. They said they wanted to post me a free booklet but I’d need to cover £1.95 for postage. They asked if I wanted to pay by visa or mastercard, but I told them I never share my card details on the phone and prefer postal cheques instead. They ended the call pretty quickly after that. They did try to convince me they could provide a company registration number so I could verify them on Companies House.

‭020 3985 0001‬ I joined a word search contest on ITV (called 2 minute tv) where you had to find the hidden word Fireworks. I definitely gave my address when entering and they confirmed it. They also wanted my Visa info for postage and packaging for a word search book they tried to sell me. I said I don’t share my card details on calls. They told me if I won, they’d inform me by the 6th of Feb. Not sure it’s a scam exactly since I entered, but feels like they’re just trying to squeeze more cash out of folks.
