Called from O2/Virgin offering a monthly discount to change portal information. Obvious phishing attempt.

Got a call from someone pretending to be O2 - total scam attempt.

Received a call purportedly from O2, stating that my number is at risk of being blocked soon and that I need to upgrade my contract. This is likely a scam.

Got a call from someone saying they were with o2. They tried to get my email so they could "verify" my account and move it from Virgin to o2. Then they said I had to log into some Portal to confirm the switch. Luckily, I rang o2 myself afterwards to check, or I might’ve lost over £4500 for stuff I never bought. This number is definitely linked to some fraud gang.

Definitely a scam, don’t trust it!

I have also been receiving several calls, where they offer me a 30% discount on my O2 bill. It makes me wonder how they know that we are all O2 customers. Could there have been a data protection breach by O2, which is causing this?

Be cautious as they are now using a different phone number with a London base. They almost succeeded in scamming me. Stay vigilant!

Got a call from someone speaking in broken English pretending they were from O2. They didn’t seem to have any info about me and just hung up. Sounds like a fishy scam to me, so I’ve blocked the number now.

Yesterday, I received a phone call from an Indian man, who mentioned something about O2 and a subscription payment. I promptly ended the call without engaging further. However, today they persistently called me three times while I was at work. I did not answer any of those calls and proceeded to block their number.

I got a call from an Asian woman saying she was with Virgin Media, telling me they were sending out a new SIM that merges Virgin and O2. She said my current SIM would be blocked. When I kept asking why she was calling my number, she didn’t seem to get it. I don’t even have an account with Virgin or O2. I keep getting these calls though - ages ago, my SIM was Virgin but I switched it ages back. They must be using old contact lists. Virgin wouldn’t do stuff like this, and there’s no need for a new SIM just because of the merge, mine still works fine. Total scam!

Got a call from this number claiming they were EE mobile saying something about a special offer. When I tried to get some info, the person on the line wouldn’t tell me anything and actually ended up calling me a #### for not agreeing to the deal. Definitely the worst “customer service” I’ve dealt with, proper scam vibes :D

I had a recent phone call from this particular number informing me that they were a representative of Virgin Media. They claimed that due to the completion of the merger with O2, it was necessary for them to send me a new SIM card; otherwise, my mobile phone would cease to function within a week. Suspecting it was a fraudulent scheme, I quickly revealed to the caller that my husband was the authorised individual in charge of the account, and that both Virgin Media and O2 possessed all of his contact information. Subsequently, I terminated the call and proceeded to block the number.

Fraud. Pretended to be from Virgin or O2, and claimed that my SIM card would become inactive within a week unless I immediately updated it with him. I mentioned contacting Virgin directly to handle the issue, but he insisted that it could only be resolved by his department, which is obviously a complete lie. I ended the call and blocked the number.

I never pick up numbers I don’t recognize, but this one rang, so I looked it up. Seems like it’s either a scam or some sort of annoying spam call. I don’t have anything to do with whatever they’re offering. My advice? Stay cautious and don’t get caught out!

There was this lady on the line with a super heavy accent, speaking so quickly it was tough to catch what she was saying. She was calling from O2 Virgin, must be after their switch-over. I’d just updated my info, but then she wanted me to verify my email to do something with porting my number or whatnot. Kept saying, “Ma’am, please tell me your email,” but I just couldn’t stop myself laughing 😂😂🤣🤣🤣. It was a bit confusing but funny!

She said she was from O2, but honestly, I wouldn’t have been able to understand her anyway with the racket happening behind her. I had to ask three separate times what company she was calling from. Not sure if all that noise was on purpose to keep her location a secret or something.

Attempted a phone scam by posing as an O2 representative, offering discount on a replacement phone SIM card. It was obvious that this was a fraudulent scheme. The scammer asked for my email address in order to send a unique code, but if he truly worked for O2, he would have already possessed my email address. Despite it being Mother's Day, I clearly expressed my dissatisfaction and told him to stop his fraudulent activities. However, he persisted in trying to deceive me. The displayed phone number indicated it was from London, but further investigation revealed it originated from India.

Two days ago, I was caught by surprise and became a victim of scamming while I was occupied with something else. The scammers managed to gain access to my Microsoft email account as well as my O2 account. To make matters worse, they ordered two iPhone 15's which came up to a whopping £2K. I must say, O2 needs to seriously reconsider and enhance their authentication process. When I reported the fraudulent activity, they asked for a code but it turned out to be identical to what the scammers had asked for.

A fraudster falsely identifying themselves as O2 and Virgin called me and accused me of lying when I mentioned that Virgin does not engage in cold calling, which I know because I am an employee there. Yesterday, I received a call from an unfamiliar number claiming to be from 02. The caller stated that they were offering me a monthly discount of 30%. However, I promptly cut off the call as my son had experienced a similar situation on Monday and was deceived. Regrettably, he had shared his email address and the number sent to him via text, which allowed the scammers to change his password and fraudulently order two Apple 15 mobile phones.
