I keep gettin calls from this bloke claiming to be from Virgin Media, proper annoying cos he rings loads of times during the day. One time I answered super early, like 6.30am, asked if he even knew the time. He reckoned it was 11.30am! Got a call from someone claiming to be Virgin Media, asked me what colour light was showing on my modem. I told them it was the usual one, then they asked which colour that was. I said if you’re really Virgin Media you’d already know, then they just hung up. The same number called me again about 20 minutes later but no one said a word and then the line just went dead. I kept getting calls from 020 3976 8289 which I just ignored, then they tried ringing me on this other number. A young bloke with an Indian accent claimed he was from Virgin Media support. When I told him I knew all about his scam from looking it up online, he swore at me and ended the call abruptly. I work in IT myself, so I was kind of hoping for a decent chat about computer hacking or something, but no such luck!

Just like all the other calls I’ve had recently, this one was claiming to be from ‘Virgin Media’ about some issue with the internet - mentioned loads of tiny files dragging the speed down or something. The lady spoke really broken English, kept rambling about computers and pressing the control key. I played along for a bit, then asked her to confirm our account name, but she refused. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and then got passed to another woman, also with an Indian accent, who tried to talk over me before just hanging up. Frustratingly enough, my Virgin connection isn’t great either! Watch out people, these are definitely trying to get access to your computer somehow. Don’t fall for it!

So, this woman named Jennifer rang me claiming she was from Virgin and that some hackers were using my internet. She promised to sort it out right then and there. Pretty sure it’s a broadband scam, some woman claiming to be from Virgin Media rang me. When I asked her for my Virgin Media password, she just ended the call. Seems like they’re trying to trick you into getting control of your internet router. I’ve had a few calls like this on other numbers as well - all blocked now but they keep switching the number they call from.

I received a rather unsettling call from the number 02039768303. The individual on the line claimed to be from the Virgin Media technical team, asserting that my internet router was facing security vulnerabilities that could potentially allow it to be hacked. They instructed me to pull up a web page, type in 'validator' on Google, and select the very first link leading to 'https://validator.w3.org/#validate_by_uri+with_options', after which I was to enter 'www.virginmedia.com'. Upon doing so, I was greeted with an array of yellow error messages and some alarming red warnings. The caller insisted that my security information was in jeopardy. However, upon further examination, I realised these were merely standard error messages stemming from the Virgin Media website itself, with no connection to my router's safety. Curiously, you could input just about any website URL and receive similar error notifications. Quite the ruse, don’t you think?

At 7.45 in the morning, my phone rang and I jumped up thinking something serious with family had happened! But when I picked up, there was a woman on the other end who was yawning really loudly, then she said something like, "This is Virgin Media calling." I asked her where she got my number from, and she just hung up straight away. I get calls almost every day from similar numbers, some even say they're from 'BT Openreach'. Every now and then I decide to mess about and ask them loads of questions - they always seem to hang up pretty quick after that.

I got a call from these idiots just now. They were complaining that my internet is slow because of some nasty malware trying to sneak in - but of course, they claimed they could fix it all for me! Honestly, don’t fall for it. These lot are an absolute joke.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Virgin Media, saying my internet was slow and asking me to run some commands on my pc to check what was wrong. When I asked for proof they were really from Virgin, they turned quite hostile and warned me they’d cut off my internet if I didn’t cooperate. I told them I was busy, but they insisted it’d only take 20 minutes. They said they’d ring me again later - let’s see what happens.

Got a call from someone who said his name was Jack, saying he was from Virgin Media. He started asking if there was a problem with my internet, then wanted to know the colours on my router. Next, he tried to get me to log into my computer and asked if I was the main account holder for the broadband. When I told him I wasn't, he just suddenly hung up. Definitely sounded like a scam.
