These crooks ring loads of folks daily, ripping off millions from hard-working people mainly in Western countries. Don’t give them any details or let them in, be really careful out there. Absolute rubbish people!

I keep gettin calls from this bloke claiming to be from Virgin Media, proper annoying cos he rings loads of times during the day. One time I answered super early, like 6.30am, asked if he even knew the time. He reckoned it was 11.30am! Honest to god, his lot are always tryin some nonsense about my fridge freezer or washing machine. It’s really starting to feel like harrassment now.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Virgin Media, asked me what colour light was showing on my modem. I told them it was the usual one, then they asked which colour that was. I said if you’re really Virgin Media you’d already know, then they just hung up. The same number called me again about 20 minutes later but no one said a word and then the line just went dead. Pretty sure it was a phishing attempt.

The caller sounded Pakistani, probably in her late 20s to early 30s.

I've been bombarded with nuisance calls from 020 3976 8289, which I wisely opted to ignore. Then, they had the audacity to ring me from another number. A young lad with an Indian accent feigned being from Virgin Media’s support team. However, upon mentioning that I'd done a bit of digging online and was aware of the scam, he resorted to calling me a Mother F***er before abruptly ending the call. As someone in the IT sector, I was quite frustrated, as I had hoped to engage in a meaningful conversation about computer hijacking instead!

Somebody rang up saying they were from Virgin Media dealing with problems on my internet. They asked if I owned a hub, and I told them if they were really Virgin Media, they'd already know that. This time, it was someone claiming to be from ‘Virgin Media’, insisting there’s an issue with our connection - apparently, loads of tiny files are to blame for the sluggishness! Their grasp of English was rather poor, and they kept chattering about something to do with my computer and the control key? I decided to humour them for a bit until I asked them to confirm our account details - at which point, she outright refused! So, I asked to speak to a supervisor instead. To my surprise, I was connected to another woman with a thick accent who wouldn’t let me get a word in edgewise and then hung up on me. It’s quite infuriating, especially since I do have a dodgy Virgin connection! Just a word of caution, folks - don’t fall into their trap; they’re definitely fishing for you to log onto a computer, likely to seize control of it!

I usually just ignore calls from numbers I don’t recognise, especially those 0800 ones or strange digits I haven’t saved. If your name’s not saved in my contacts, I don’t bother answering. Most of the time it’s just scammers or telemarketers looking to sell something or fish for info, and honestly, they can buzz off. To anyone else getting loads of these calls, just put them to one side - they’ll get bored eventually and target someone else instead.

So, this woman named Jennifer rang me claiming she was from Virgin and that some hackers were using my internet. She promised to sort it out right then and there. I told her I’d ring her back after cooking and she just cut me off. Then about 5 minutes later, some bloke called Sebastian phoned, telling me the exact same tale. I can assure you, there was a clear attempt at scamming, as they were trying to get into my computer through AnyDesk. I've got a recording of the latter part of our chat, and they eventually just cut the call. I feel like I've wasted a solid 20 minutes, but fingers crossed there’s sufficient proof for Virgin Media to take action and terminate this line.

Pretty sure it’s a broadband scam, some woman claiming to be from Virgin Media rang me. When I asked her for my Virgin Media password, she just ended the call. Seems like they’re trying to trick you into getting control of your internet router. I’ve had a few calls like this on other numbers as well - all blocked now but they keep switching the number they call from.

I received a rather unsettling call from the number 02039768303. The individual on the line claimed to be from the Virgin Media technical team, asserting that my internet router was facing security vulnerabilities that could potentially allow it to be hacked. They instructed me to pull up a web page, type in 'validator' on Google, and select the very first link leading to 'https://validator.w3.org/#validate_by_uri+with_options', after which I was to enter 'www.virginmedia.com'. Upon doing so, I was greeted with an array of yellow error messages and some alarming red warnings. The caller insisted that my security information was in jeopardy. However, upon further examination, I realised these were merely standard error messages stemming from the Virgin Media website itself, with no connection to my router's safety. Curiously, you could input just about any website URL and receive similar error notifications. Quite the ruse, don’t you think?

At 7.45 in the morning, my phone rang and I jumped up thinking something serious with family had happened! But when I picked up, there was a woman on the other end who was yawning really loudly, then she said something like, "This is Virgin Media calling." I asked her where she got my number from, and she just hung up straight away. I get calls almost every day from similar numbers, some even say they're from 'BT Openreach'. Every now and then I decide to mess about and ask them loads of questions - they always seem to hang up pretty quick after that.

I got a call from these idiots just now. They were complaining that my internet is slow because of some nasty malware trying to sneak in - but of course, they claimed they could fix it all for me! Honestly, don’t fall for it. These lot are an absolute joke.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Virgin Media, saying my internet was slow and asking me to run some commands on my pc to check what was wrong. When I asked for proof they were really from Virgin, they turned quite hostile and warned me they’d cut off my internet if I didn’t cooperate. I told them I was busy, but they insisted it’d only take 20 minutes. They said they’d ring me again later - let’s see what happens.

I received a call on my landline, and the line was utterly dreadful. The person on the other end struggled to communicate in English, which made matters worse. It was regarding my Virgin connection, but I decided to politely excuse myself and ended the conversation.

Like many before me, I received a call purporting to be from Virgin, claiming they needed to sort out some issues with my router. They went on about what colour the light was, then attempted to coax me into typing some dodgy web address on my laptop. The caller was an Asian woman whose accent was so thick, she could have been reading straight from a script at Virgin's call centre. Truly, they deserve nothing less than a good dose of karma for their deceitful ways. Thankfully, I wasn’t taken in by this pathetic con artist.

I received a similar call not long ago. The caller, who said they were with Virgin, mentioned there were seven devices connected to my network, three of which were apparently creating security issues. I was a tad sceptical and pointed out that my WiFi had been down all day because of roadworks outside. Strangely enough, she abruptly terminated the call.

They ask one thing, I hit them back with something they ought to know! It’s quite amusing, really. By the time I'm done, they’re well and truly flustered and often start hurling insults. I received a phone call from someone named Jack, who claimed to be representing Virgin Media. He inquired about an issue with my broadband service and proceeded to ask what colours were showing on my router. Then, he attempted to get me to log into my PC while probing whether I was the primary account holder for the broadband. When I mentioned that I wasn’t, he abruptly ended the call. Definitely sounds like a scammer to me!
