Someone rang me after 9pm and right when I was about to answer, they just hung up.

Got a call from 02037949268 but my husband couldn’t make out a single word the lady was saying, even after she tried twice. He asked to talk to someone else and she just ended the call. When I rang back, a message told me to call 02039749278 (one number off) to stop energy marketing calls. Took a chance and called it, and a polite voice offered to remove our info from their list - I went ahead and asked for that. Told them there’s no point using callers who can’t be understood, and we'd find our info elsewhere, cheers! Not sure if they’ll actually listen though.

They do offer useful tips on cutting down your energy bills and ways to use less energy smartly, but once they’ve given the initial advice, they just keep bothering you non-stop. This caller seems to have taken up permanent residence on my phone! They ring multiple times daily, and with our landline displaying the number, we’ve adopted a policy of only answering if someone actually speaks. That way, we can differentiate between the bothersome nuisance calls and any legitimate inquiries. Quite frankly, it’s getting rather tiresome. I can’t fathom what they hope to achieve with this incessant ringing. Does anyone have any advice on how to block this number? It has become a daily annoyance for over two weeks now!

Got a random call trying to steal my info to switch my provider or pass my details to their mates, which is dodgy and often leads to fraud. UK companies don't seem to bother protecting their customers and even let this stuff happen. If you’ve ever been with ISP like TalkTalk, you’d know the slow internet speeds are just the start, then the annoying calls and “issues” where they want to connect to your computer and ask for bank info. If you don’t recognise a number, just don’t answer it - seriously, never pick up.

The call was really hard to understand due to the poor line and what sounded like a foreign accent, maybe Indian, so I couldn’t make out the company name. She asked if I wanted to switch my energy provider and requested my postcode, which I naively gave her. Then she asked for my email to send details about the offer, but I refused since I couldn’t properly hear her. Without even saying goodbye or being polite, she just ended the call abruptly.
