The phone rang at 07:38 this morning, but I missed it. They didn’t bother to leave a voicemail, which makes me suspect it's just another dodgy scam.

Got a call at 7.55pm, they asked if I was Mrs something. I asked who was calling and they said it was about a lottery. I hung up straight away. Do postcode lotteries actually call you to say you’ve won or is it just a rubbish scam?

Around 3pm today this number rang, but nobody was around to pick up, and no voicemail was left. A couple of days ago, a similar number got in touch claiming to be from the Postcode Lottery, saying we’d won some money and needed to provide bank details to receive it. That call got cut off part way through. Both this number and the earlier one have been blocked now.

I picked up just in case it was a family member who was unwell, which doesn't happen often since I usually let the phone ring more than five times cos most scam calls seem to give up by then. But this time there was just dead silence on the line, like the caller was a scammer. And yep, they rang me right back again.

Got a silent ring from this number around 12.47, then later at about 3.10pm a bloke with a foreign accent called asking for Mr XXXX. When I told him he’d got the wrong person, he just dropped the call. Strange!

Got a call from this number thrice today. Each time, it was a lady saying “Hi,” which I found pretty irritating. I've made it clear to her not to ring me back.

Got a call from a woman speaking with a funny accent, telling me I’d won £399 on the Postcode Lottery. She then asked for my age, which confused me - what does that even have to do with the prize? When I asked her, she couldn’t give an answer. I just hung up. Honestly, something needs to be done about these calls.

This number called me once again but when I picked up, it just went quiet. I've gotten calls from this number previously and the same silent behaviour happened - definitely a scam.

Some bloke with a foreign accent called me saying his name was John and claimed I’d won £399 on some postcode lottery. He asked for my bank info but luckily I play the Postcode Lottery so I knew this was a con - I’ve actually won a few tenner prizes before. Didn’t give him any details and he just ended up hanging up on me.

Got a call from this number at 7:56 this morning, and honestly, who calls so early? It's just daft. I'm baffled how these lot keep getting away with it. Seems like no one's really doing anything about it, and all these posts here feel like a total waste when nothing changes.

Got a call from this number claiming I’d won £399 and some vouchers from the postcode lottery. They wanted me to confirm my bank details, like sort code and account number. I received a call from someone inquiring about Mr XXXXX. I’d be quite flattered if I were wed, but alas, I simply used my girlfriend’s name. When I asked, “No, who’s calling?” the nincompoop just hung up! I attempted to ring back only to find the number was a dead end. It’s clearly a dodgy number from a right dodger!

I just let the call ring out to voicemail because the number looked familiar from previous dodgy calls I’ve had. Then I had a quick look on this site, and honestly, it’s brilliant for giving peace of mind. I have a couple of mates from years back who live in London, so I always get a bit anxious it might be them. Massive thanks to all the folks leaving comments here - it really helps!

Got a call from this number, could hear loads of chatter in the background like a busy call centre or something. The person with a foreign tone asked if I was Mrs so-and-so. I didn’t say yes, just asked who was calling. They claimed to be from the Postcode Lottery and told me I’d won £350 plus a voucher. Told them I wasn’t interested and decided to look up the number. Seemed fishy to me, so I went ahead and blocked it. Definitely a scam, if you ask me.

I received a call from a number in London at 8:00 am on 17th December while I was in Co Antrim. I didn't pick up the phone as I recognised it as a London area code. In hindsight, I'm pleased I chose not to answer. However, had I done so, I could have informed them that folks from Northern Ireland don’t qualify for the postcode lottery!

I received a call purporting to be from the Lottery department. They had a fresh number, a different address, and a new name, but they mispronounced my surname. The caller mentioned he needed to verify some details and promised to return my call, but I’ve yet to hear anything. The background noise was typical of a call centre - very distracting!

I picked up the phone this time because I thought it might be concerning a poorly relative from my real life. Normally, I tend to ignore calls unless they ring more than five times, as I’ve noticed that a lot of spammers tend to hang up before reaching that point. But what greeted me was nothing but silence - classic scammer behaviour. And can you believe it? They've just tried to ring me again!

They pretended to be associated with some sort of postcode lottery and requested my sort code and account number. Claiming to be associated with the Post Code Lottery, this call had an unsettling familiarity. They not only had my postcode but also my full name and home address. They went on about me being a lucky winner, offering all sorts of enticing prizes - a supermarket loyalty card, an all-expenses-paid trip for my family and a couple of mates, alongside a rather tempting £399 in cash.
