Early this morning I got a call from 02039727748 but when I picked up there was nothing but silence.

Around 3pm today this number rang, but nobody was around to pick up, and no voicemail was left. A couple of days ago, a similar number got in touch claiming to be from the Postcode Lottery, saying we’d won some money and needed to provide bank details to receive it. That call got cut off part way through. Both this number and the earlier one have been blocked now.

But this time there was just dead silence on the line, like the caller was a scammer. And yep, they rang me right back again.

I got a call asking for Mr XXXXX, I told them I’m not him since I’m not married and actually use my girlfriend’s last name. When I asked what it was about, they just hung up on me. Tried calling back but the number didn’t work. Definitely a dodgy scammer number if you ask me!

Got a call from this number, could hear loads of chatter in the background like a busy call centre or something. The person with a foreign tone asked if I was Mrs so-and-so. Seemed fishy to me, so I went ahead and blocked it. Definitely a scam, if you ask me.

When he then asked for my bank PIN - like a six digit number or whatever - I called him out as a scammer straight away. Even then, he didn’t back off. I told him if he really was from the Postcode Lottery, he’d just send an email and wouldn’t be asking for my banking details over the phone. After that, I put the phone down.

Around 6:11 in the evening, my mum got a call on her home phone from a woman. It was another one of those postcode lottery scams. They tried to find out my mum’s age and then asked for her account details to send the “prize” money. Mum wasn’t having any of it and just ended the call. Honestly, it’s terrible how these lowlifes target elderly people like that. I really hope they face some kind of justice, whether it’s here or in the afterlife.
