Got a call from a man with an Indian accent claiming to be from BT about some broadband problem I hadn't heard of. I told him we don't even use BT and if he thought there was an issue, he should ring our actual provider. Then I added, maybe he should find a real job instead of bothering people with these calls.

Received a call from someone pretending to be with BT Openreach, saying my internet was running slow. They insisted I unplug my router right away. I told them I wasn’t trusting any of it and wouldn’t share any details. Then they had the cheek to ask for my supervisor! I called them out as scammers straight away. The bloke got annoyed, muttered ‘bloody hell’, and then just hung up. Absolute rubbish! Another number gone to the blocked list!

Got a message on my answerphone from someone with an American accent, saying my bank account’s been hacked and will be blocked soon. They told me to press 1 if I wanted to stop it. No mention of my name or the bank, which was a red flag since banks never ring you up like that. Honestly, I’d recommend everyone use an answerphone - you can just check who’s calling without picking up. I’m with BT Decor at the moment and it works great for this kind of thing.

My grandma, who lost her husband not long ago, got a few calls today from someone saying they were from her bank and that there was some kind of fraud going on. Luckily, she wasn’t convinced and just ended the call right away.
