I had an unexpected call from a chap with an accent reminiscent of the Indian subcontinent. He asserted he was reaching out on behalf of Amazon, informing me that there had been a failed attempt to buy an iPhone through my account (which, as it happens, wasn't true at all). He insisted he needed to verify if it was an authentic transaction. When I replied with a firm 'no', he then suggested he would send me a link via text to confirm my information, claiming he could assist in halting the purchase. I couldn’t hold back and told him he was nothing but a lowlife and ought to find himself a respectable job.

Got a call from someone claiming my Sky broadband was acting up because of loads of errors, and he was there to fix it. Seemed quite helpful at first.
