Tom Tom is the one who called me. I wasn’t expecting it, but yeah, it was him.

Watch out! The number 02039508393 is definitely not genuine Garmin customer support, total scam!

Some dodgy bloke called Michael Clarke rang me, pretending to be from TomTom support. Total scammer alert - best to ignore him and not waste your time chatting!

Had a similar experience as others here. I was updating my Tom Tom and got told there was an issue and someone would ring me back. Next thing, they accessed my computer remotely. They tried pushing me to purchase some lifetime packages for my PC. I said no and they just ended the call. Later, I purchased an additional security package to check my system, but it wouldn’t even work because those scammers messed things up. Now I’m stuck doing a system restore. Tom Tom really needs to step up and tackle these fraudsters.

Had a call from a number I didn't recognize, so I just blocked it straight away. Too many mystery calls these days!

Just got a call from these lot right after I was updating my sat nav. They were trying to push some update on me! Proper scam, honestly, what a load of rubbish.

Once these people have your info, they never let go. The usual trick is you go onto what looks like a legit satnav update site, start chatting online, and then suddenly you’re on the phone being pushed to buy bogus stuff - could be lifetime satnav updates, antivirus software, whatever sounds convincing. Next thing you know, you’re handing your card details over to some random call centre in India (these lot have even been on Panorama for scamming!) and you’re paying for nonsense after a 20 minute chat. Don't get caught up in it!

I got a call after I accidentally clicked on a dodgy HP site. The bloke told me I couldn’t set up my printer ‘cause my laptop was full of viruses. I foolishly gave him remote access. When I told him I wasn’t comfortable with him messing around on my computer and said I’d get it checked out by a shop, he just ended the call right away.

Just had a similar call today. Some bloke claiming to be a tech support guy rings up saying he needs to fix my printer settings so it connects properly. Before long, he was all about payment plans and stuff, and I caught him snooping through files he definitely shouldn’t be touching. I didn’t hesitate to cut the power straight away. He got pretty irate and then hung up on me. I've removed the client host and running a full virus check now. Don't fall for their scams, something really needs to be done about these fraudsters.

I got a call from the number 02039508393 claiming to be from HP support. They said my printer wouldn’t install because my PC was full of viruses and needed a £300 update. The bloke was really pushy and got quite rude when I started getting suspicious. When I told him to get off my computer, he threatened that if I disconnected, all my files would be at risk and wiped. Then he just hung up on me out of nowhere.

This is totally a ripoff.

This guy was a total pro at scamming, really smooth and sneaky. He somehow managed to convince me he was from HP printers support. I genuinely thought I was talking to an HP tech. Then he asked to connect to my computer to set up the wireless printer. I still can't believe I let him access my computer for like five minutes. After that, he went and changed all my passwords. I feel absolutely gutted about it.

Was trying to update my Tom Tom when a message popped up telling me to get in touch with their support. Then some bloke rang up and tried to convince my husband to shell out more than £300 for some firewall thing! He’d already taken control of the laptop by then! Right now, I’m running a full scan and clearing out any viruses and stuff.

Was updating my satnav when I got a call from some bloke with an Asian accent claiming my computer was full of viruses. It all seemed a bit dodgy, so I looked up the number online and found loads of warnings about it being a scam. Feels like Garmin’s live chat might have been hacked or something. Better steer clear of that number!

We put some details on the Garmin site to update our sat nav, and then got a call from a guy named Daniel Wayne offering to guide us through the steps. Suddenly he claimed our PC had a virus and that this had infected the sat nav too. He said he’d fix everything and give us a year’s security for £150. My husband, who’s normally very suspicious about these things, actually thought it sounded genuine, but luckily he checked with me before doing anything.

I got a call from some fake support team claiming they were from TomTom nav help. They somehow got into my PC and I reckon they could've installed some dodgy software to nick my info or tried to make me cough up for pointless fixes that my sat nav didn't actually need. Total scam if you ask me.

These satnav people are trying to hack into your computer, watch out! Never let them take control, they can't be trusted at all.
