My lad encountered a right pickle during his online lessons when his laptop got locked up with a warning about a virus. It urged him to ring Microsoft using a certain number for a 'free' solution. Turns out it was a dodgy scheme! The person on the line, masquerading as a tech helper, tried to lure me into signing up for an antivirus service, aiming to swipe money from my bank account. Luckily for me, I had only left a modest 14 quid in the account, thinking the subscription would be just 3 quid! The call was cut short a few times, and then I received another call from the number 01646686681. My phone flagged it as coming from Global Communication Wales, which seems to operate in the IT sector. So, I urge everyone to stay vigilant and watch out for these scams!

Someone claiming to be from Microsoft reached out, attempting to gain remote access to my laptop to supposedly unlock it. Quite suspicious, I'd say!
