I picked up the phone when this number rang. There was an awkward pause, followed by a rather faint connection. A chap with an Indian accent introduced himself as Michael, claiming to be with something like the National Traffic Accident bureau. When I inquired about the nature of the organisation, he merely reiterated the name. I pressed him further, and he mentioned it had something to do with reporting incidents on the road. He then fired off three different ways of asking if I’d been in an accident, to which I responded with a firm no (though that's not entirely accurate, as I prefer to keep such matters strictly between myself and my insurer). After my continued insistence, he muttered something about a "mistake" and promptly hung up. I’m curious as to how they managed to obtain my contact details, and I’m not at all pleased about it.
