Got a call about my washing machine warranty out of the blue - total scam, don’t fall for it!

Just got a call about some washing machine warranty thing - sounded dodgy to me, like one of those scams. Didn't trust it at all and hung up straight away. Be careful folks, these calls seem to be getting smarter but they’re still just trying to rip you off.

Got a call from a woman claiming my washing machine warranty was up. I asked her what brand she had on file to prove it was mine, and she said she wasn’t present when I originally bought it. Honestly, these people are not just scammers, they’re pretty daft too.

Got a call from someone pushing an extended warranty for my appliances. I told her I already had enough coverage. She just kept going, wouldn’t take no for an answer. Eventually, when I said I wasn’t interested anymore, she just hung up on me!

Kept getting calls with nobody speaking when I picked up - clearly some robot call centre spamming me. Blocked for sure!

My phone completely froze after the answering machine asked them to leave a message. It was like the system just couldn’t handle it.

Just another slacker out here trying to trick people. Honestly, do us all a favour and stop scamming, find some proper work instead, mate.

They claimed to be from D&G Appliance Care.

I got a call from someone telling me my appliance warranty had expired. I asked which appliance they meant, but they just kept pushing me for my card info, saying it had to start with a 4. Thing is, loads of bank cards start with a 4! I kept asking them to send me last year’s contract first, and then they just hung up when I refused to give my card details. Definitely sounded dodgy to me. - Liz C

I recently received a call from this number claiming I have an account with them that needs renewing. They mentioned I've been punctual in not requesting repairs for my appliances, but they insisted my card had expired and asked for my new details, starting with a digit 4. Be very cautious! All valid debit and credit cards begin with a 4. When I requested a copy of my last renewal (which I hadn't actually signed up for), they abruptly ended the call. There was quite a ruckus in the background as well, with people chattering loudly. Just wanted to give everyone a heads-up - stay vigilant!

None of my saved numbers picked up and I didn’t get a single voicemail either. Had a look at the comments on this site and after seeing what others said, I went ahead and blocked the number.

Just a heads up, I got a call from some scam people asking for my card's expiry date, saying it was about an appliances insurance renewal - thing is, I’ve never had anything like that. I messed around with them for about 25 minutes, acting all confused, and they really seemed to think I was an easy target, maybe an older person who’d hand over money without question. Thank goodness I played along and didn’t give them anything!

Got a call from this number around 1:50 this afternoon. It was a woman speaking with an accent, talking about insurance for appliances like fridges and washers. We don’t usually get extended warranty coverage, so I reckon it might be a scam.

This number kept ringing my mobile over and over but never actually left a message, so I just decided to block it. No idea how they even got my number since I'm super careful about who I share it with. Then, today, they rang my home phone. Some bloke named Aaron was on the line. I cut him off pretty quick!

They called up asking if I wanted to renew some electric warranty, but we don’t even have one.

I think it was someone with an Indian accent, real noisy like a call centre. It seemed like one of those home appliance insurance scams to me.

Got a call from an Asian gentleman trying to get me to renew some white goods insurance, which I clearly don’t have. He kept going on like I was meant to have it, but when I mentioned I’m a police officer and had no clue what he was on about, he suddenly said sorry and ended the call. Pretty obvious it was some sort of scam, probably aimed at older folks.

They never bother to leave a message on the answerphone, so I’m left with nothing to go on.

Got a call from a woman, sounded foreign, and she had some really blaring tunes in the background. I told her I couldn't catch what she was saying and then just hung up. Later, I checked this site out of curiosity, as always, to find out what nonsense they were trying to push.

I didnt pick up, let it go to the answerphone but they never bothered to leave a message. They never leave any voicemails. This was from D & General in London, if that helps.

I've never picked up, they never leave a voicemail or anything. Got two calls from them already today but each time the number's different. When I tried telling them to stop if I did answer, they'd just ring back the very next day from another new number. Just a heads up about 02084409433 - it looks like yet another one of their endless mixes.

I got a call from someone claiming to sell home appliance plans, and weirdly, they already had both my name and address. It felt off, so I just hung up before they even tried to pitch the cover to me. Definitely a scam, I reckon.

I asked the lady what the call was about, and she just snapped back with "no you can't," then cheekily ended the call on me.

They were pretending to offer renewal insurance for appliances just to pry for personal info. I told them I’m on the TPS, but they claimed they didn’t have to follow those regulations. I asked them to remove me from their calls and then they just hung up on me.

Just got a call from appliancecare247[###] who kept insisting my washing machine’s warranty was about to run out. Felt like a total scam, they just kept pushing false info about needing to renew. Really annoying cold call that caught me off guard.

Got a ring from 02039300546 just now, and it's the same old story. My parents, who are quite elderly, have set up a call blocker so only people they know can get through. Despite that, this number keeps trying to get through, asking to talk to my dad about some supposedly "accident" thing or pretending to be from his bank. The weirdest part is, the person on the line always sounds Asian but uses a really English name. I've told them they’re acting illegally, but no surprise, they just don’t seem to care. So annoying!

This is just another dodgy call from someone pretending to offer a warranty, probably an Asian scammer. Blocked straight away.
