I requested a subject access request to uncover how they obtained my information, but they declined my request. This gives me the grounds to escalate the matter to my local data protection authority. I've gone ahead and lodged a complaint with the ICO here in the UK.

So, I got a call from this guy saying he was from ams (accident management services) and kept telling me they had my file saying i'd been in an accident within the last year. When I asked how they got my info, he started making fun of my accent, called me a mug, then just dropped the call. I've reported them to the ICO now - fingers crossed they take action and slap a fine on them for harrassing people like this.

This evening, I received a rather dubious call stating that the accident I was involved in, which I wasn't to blame for, had been classified as a Category C. They went on to say that everyone in the vehicle, including myself, was entitled to a payout of £2,500 from the other party’s insurance. Feeling a bit foolish, I decided to return the call, only to be met with an engaged tone before the line abruptly cut off. Quite the sketchy situation, if you ask me.

When I picked up the phone, some woman named Amy from AMS was mumbling and humming to herself. She asked if my minor accident claim was sorted. I just said “buzz off Amy” and slammed the phone down. She’s now blocked, no chance I’m dealing with that again.
