I tried to do a subject access request to see where they got my info from, but they wouldn’t cooperate. When that happens, you’re allowed to report them to your country’s data protection authority. I ended up filing a complaint with the ICO here in the UK.

So, I got a call from this guy saying he was from ams (accident management services) and kept telling me they had my file saying i'd been in an accident within the last year. When I asked how they got my info, he started making fun of my accent, called me a mug, then just dropped the call. I've reported them to the ICO now - fingers crossed they take action and slap a fine on them for harrassing people like this.

Got a call this evening from someone saying that the crash I wasn’t at fault for was a category C, and everyone in the car, me included, would get £2,500 each from the other insurance company. Being daft, I called the number back but just got a dead dial tone and then it cut off.

When I picked up the phone, some woman named Amy from AMS was mumbling and humming to herself. She asked if my minor accident claim was sorted. I just said “buzz off Amy” and slammed the phone down. She’s now blocked, no chance I’m dealing with that again.
