Received a call regarding a PPI claim and some tax refund supposedly from HMRC.

I picked up on the third ring but heard nothing, then the call just dropped. Looked it up here and decided to block the number.

Yesterday, I received a call on my mobile from a woman claiming to represent the government on issues concerning rundown properties. She was probing whether I was encountering any issues, such as mould, in my rental accommodation. Quite peculiar, to say the least!

Got a call about window repairs, insulation and boiler checks, seemed like a total scam to me. Didn’t even bother staying on the line to find out what exactly they were selling. With all the news about housing issues and dodgy landlords not looking after their tenants, this kind of call really needs to be reported. It’s just not right.

This number’s rang me a few times now, I’ve got it saved as spam so it pops up right away and I just block it. They don’t bother leaving a message either, so there’s no way I’m answering.

Some bloke called Stephen rang up saying he was with a housing association or council or whatever, saying they planned to do repairs on my “council” property. Said they’d send someone over soon to sort out the issues. Problem is, I don’t even live in a council house. He mentioned being based in Manchester too. No idea what the point was, felt like a complete faff just to prove who I was.

Got a call from a number I didn’t recognise. Looked it up here and, surprise surprise, it’s another scammer. This is the third one this morning and it’s barely midday. Properly fed up with all these calls now.

Received a call from this number, and my device flagged it as potential fraud.

I never got his name, but the guy rang me pretending to be from Visa, saying I might be due a refund from HMRC. I just laughed and told him goodbye straight away!

Sounds like it might be one of those dodgy scams, to be honest.

A bloke said he was Eric Peters, a manager from some company named Back Source International based in Manchester. I tried looking them up on Companies House and couldn’t find a trace. He kept going on about handling my PPI claim, which I don’t even have, then switched it to a possible claim when I told him otherwise. He mentioned they're linked to a tax firm called Brooksdale Limited who supposedly handle the claims, and that his company just introduces clients. When I asked where they got my info from and said I couldn't find anything about this BSI firm, he just ended the call on me.
