I got a robo call saying it was HMRC, warning me about legal trouble if I didn’t respond. Total scam, don’t fall for it!

I didn't pick up but let the voicemail play. It was some robotic voice, sounded American, saying it was Officer Grey from HMRC. It warned that ignoring the message would bring legal trouble. Totally a scam, just like the other reports about these numbers.

Got a call from someone saying they were from HMRC about some tax fraud thing. Seemed pretty real at first but when I started asking them stuff to check if they were legit, it got a bit dodgy. They kept going on about how I'd ignored official letters from HMRC sent through some national post service and kept pushing that I should get a tax lawyer straight away. Sounds like a right scam to me.
