I got a call from a really nice sounding woman who said my washing machine warranty was about to run out. When I asked her when exactly it was due to expire, she said it was actually the same day! I joked that it was quite a coincidence she caught me right on the dot of the end date. I also mentioned I'd had a couple of other calls a few weeks earlier saying the warranty was about to finish then as well. She said we all need to be sharp about who we trust on the phone, since apparently last week someone pretending to be from Amazon phoned her, and she knew for sure it wasn’t legit.
