Had a sketchy call from a bloke saying Sky was switching my supplier over to Shell Energy. Said he was with UK Tariff and claimed they ran every tariff in the UK, which sounded dodgy. I chuckled and said I’d ring Sky myself instead, and he got pretty annoyed. Pretty sure he was about to ask for my bank info or something. He knew my name and that I had Sky broadband - either he guessed or had some info beforehand.

I got a call from this number today, and when I picked up the lady started talking about TV insurance. I could tell pretty quick that it was dodgy. Total waste of time.

Got a call earlier from someone talking about insurance on my TV, sounded pretty legit at first, saying I could pay half of what I’m currently paying. Problem is, I can’t even recall if I’ve ever had insurance for the TV, and honestly, I’ve never insured anything before. Really weird though, they knew my name, address, and birthday, but thankfully not my bank info. Ended the call straight away. They rang back about five times after that. I work hard for my stuff, and I’m not about to let dodgy people steal from me. Watch out for these sorts of scams!

Someone called claiming I had insurance on my TV and then asked for £285 to cancel it.

I got a call from a company claiming they dealt with insuring my 'White stuff'. They tried to sell me a discount on one of my gadgets and asked me to give my card number. I didn't want to share it since I’m trying to cut back on spending lately. They got quite annoyed and said I wouldn’t get the discount if I didn’t give the card details. Later, I did a 1471 on the number and found it didn’t match the actual company’s phone number at all, plus the area code wasn’t even the same as my insurance firm’s. Seriously, watch out - there’s loads of dodgy calls like this going round.
