Just a scam, best to give it a miss.

Got a call from some bloke claiming they were ringing about my shop’s Eon Electric contract renewal, said it was for legal reasons or something. I told him to call back later so I could look up the number first. Definitely dodged a bullet there - this time of year you can easily get caught out with all these dodgy calls.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with EE. I barely had the chance to talk, maybe 10 seconds tops, before I just ended the call because I could tell it was a scam straight away.

I just got a call from someone with an Indian accent, saying she was from EE. The funny thing is, she didn’t even know my name but was trying to offer me a bill discount. When I asked how much I’m currently paying, she couldn’t give me a straight answer. Honestly, I think there’s more folks pretending to be EE reps than the real employees themselves!

Got a call from someone claiming to be with EE 'Network'. They wanted me to confirm how much I paid last month, but I told them to check their own records. They reckoned I was paying about £20, which is way off, and tried to offer a bigger discount. When I asked for a callback number, they sighed and said you can't phone the promotions team back. That’s when I told them they were definitely not from EE, ended the call and blocked the number. This number seems dodgy, they’re clearly trying to trick people into giving out personal info.

Got a call from a bloke saying he was with O2, offering a deal or something. Then they passed me over to another guy, also Asian, who said he was from some sort of refund team. The text they sent came from that same number, and the calls showed up as from 01514 530270 (Liverpool area, I think) and 02877 079958 (somewhere in Limavady, Northern Ireland). Didn’t bother staying on the line and just ended the call.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with EE, saying they could chop my contract fee from £36 to £18 a month because I was a loyal customer. Thing is, I haven’t been with EE since like 2005, but she just wouldn’t believe me. Then, the minute I asked where she got my number from, she just hung up on me.

I encountered a rather unsuitable conversation with someone claiming to represent O2. Initially, they mentioned there were network issues, but then it took a bizarre turn when they started expressing affections and blaming me for wasting their time. The comments made were quite out of line and unprofessional, to say the least. Quite the unexpected exchange!

Had some right dodgy characters ring up claiming to be from O2 with some nonsense about a disruption. They weren’t just your usual scammers though, proper irritating. When my wife told them she wasn’t an O2 customer and to please take her off their so-called list, one of them went and made some cheeky, inappropriate comments to her. Honestly, these muppets should be off the streets.
