I dont use PayPal at all and they kept calling me Mr when im actually Miss. They told me there was a recent transaction attempt on my PayPal account which confused me since I dont even have one.

Got a couple texts that said they were from PayPal, but then PayPal themselves told me those messages weren’t from them at all. The person on the phone claimed they’d ring me back in about 20 minutes, but I never heard from them again. Seems like a classic telemarketer trick to me.

They claimed to be PayPal, but honestly, it wasn’t them. I double-checked with PayPal, and they said the call definitely didn’t come from their side.

They phoned up claiming there had been some sort of fraud on PayPal. They talked about a payment I supposedly didn’t authorise. I checked with PayPal and they told me it wasn’t them at all.

I've checked this number and it's definitely from PayPal. It's real, not some scam or spam call.

Got a call from someone claiming to be the police. They already had my driver’s licence and email info. They were attempting to get into my Paypal account.

Yeah, it really was PayPal but the call ended up costing me £11. I spotted the charge on my Virgin bill and decided to check it out on who called me. That’s how I worked out it was PayPal. I had been sorting out a refund for a 6 month payment from a walking app, so that confirmed it was legit.

Got a call from someone claiming to be PayPal. I asked them straight up who they really were and they just ended the call on me. Definitely felt like a scam.

This isn’t actually PayPal, it’s a telemarketing firm claiming to represent them. I’ve tried ringing them back multiple times, but every time I select any option, the extension is always busy and the voicemail seems full. Such a pain!

Just to add, that call didn't charge me any money from my phone, just used up some minutes!

Just got off the phone with PayPal's customer support - had to go through the usual prompts first, but the person I spoke to seemed legit. The number I called is actually listed in their app, so it’s definitely real and official.

Looks like one of those PayPal scams to me.

Some bloke rang me claiming to be PayPal saying I owed them money, which I'm sure I don’t. Then out of nowhere, he starts asking if I owe anything for my electricity and gas. That struck me as fishy, especially since just the day before, someone said they were from Shell, which my phone flagged as spam. It really put me on edge, like how do they even know who my providers are? When the PayPal guy asked about the bills, I told him straight up I was suspicious and didn’t want to continue the call before hanging up. The guy had a faint Irish accent too, which just added to the odd vibe.

It was July 19th, 2019 when my phone rang, but I didn't pick up. Still, I can't help feeling a bit wary about it. Whoever was calling really could use a bit of faith and guidance from Jesus Christ as their saviour.
