This is Broadway Studios, a genuine photo studio. If they rang you, it’s either someone recommended you or you signed up for a shoot. Right now, they’re offering free photo sessions for singles, couples, or families, including hair, make-up and free prints. They do ask for a £25 deposit to secure your booking but you get it back on the day of the shoot. This isn’t a con. If you’re not interested, just pick up and say no, so they can offer the spot to someone else.

I responded to a photoshoot ad I spotted on Facebook and got a call today telling me I'd been picked. Everything seemed great until they wanted me to shell out a £25 deposit right then and there. They asked for all my card details - card number, expiry, and the three-digit code. I just told them, "No need for that, cheers," and ended the call. Seriously, no legit company asks for sensitive card info over the phone! Even banks don't do that!

Some rubbish firm called Broadway Studio got in touch, saying two so-called 'friends' (one I know, the other a total stranger) had given them my number. I told them straight away to remove my details from their list and not pass it on to anyone else (GDPR protects me on this). The mate I actually know, who I hadn’t spoken to in years, got a sharp warning off me about sharing my number without asking first. If he does it again, I’ll be handing his contact to every PPI, crash claim and insurance telemarketer I can find.

Well, my mate did go for the photo session and didn’t pay a penny, so I don’t think it’s a scam. He mentioned putting my number down because he got a bigger discount on the pics he wanted to buy. When they called me, they were quite rude after I said I live outside London, and kept pestering me to tell them when I’d be back in town - way too aggressive for my liking. Definitely a no from me, so I just blocked them.

Some woman rang me and called me ‘naomi’ but my name’s actually ‘niamh’. She mentioned that someone had passed on my number to this lad, saying he recommended me - but I’ve never even spoken to the guy, I only know his name. I called this place called Broadway Studios over in Wimbledon, London. They sound pretty good on the phone, telling you about free extras if you book a photoshoot, but then they want a £10 deposit and get your card info. The catch is you don’t really see the small print until after you’ve given them your details. By then you’re basically stuck and could lose money you worked hard for. Sure, they are a real studio, but I wouldn’t say they’re trustworthy or worth it. Definitely check out the reviews online before you fall for their “exclusive deal” hype.

Picked up today and right away said, "This is like the seventh time you've called me from this number," but the bloke just ignored it and launched into his spiel. I told him I'm 85 miles out in Gloucestershire and joked that travel costs are an "investment" - said "Why don't you cover the expenses then!" They've been ringing me every single day for two weeks straight. When I eventually answered, they said I'd been randomly picked for a free photoshoot. They then asked me to pay a deposit just in case I didn’t turn up. I told them I needed to think about it to end the call. The guy sounded unsure but said I had one day to decide because the offer wouldn’t last longer than that. Yet, I’ve still been getting calls every day for the past week.

Got a call from some photography place that was supposedly recommended by a bunch of mates with weird names I don’t even know, probably just cos my name sounds a bit ethnic. They jumped straight to asking for a deposit, which felt dodgy, but I didn’t know any of the so-called friends and they didn’t really convince me. My guess is it’s one of those prank calls where your reply is recorded and sent off to whoever set it up.

Totally a scam! I got a call from this person I kinda know who told me to drop by sometime this week, said I’d get a free photo or something. When I asked what the picture was actually for, like if it was some sort of modelling gig or what, she just suddenly said “Sorry, gotta go, bye!” and hung up right away. Pretty sketchy if you ask me.

I find it really suspicious when they say you won a photo session but you can’t ring them back. If they won’t let you call the number they phoned you from, how trustworthy can they be? I gave my card info once and if something shady happens, you might not get your money back. Plus, the studio’s contact they gave me was nothing like the original caller’s number, which made me even more wary.

So today, Friday, I got a call from a number with no caller ID saying I'd won a photoshoot in Wimbledon. The caller claimed a mate had recommended me and that I’d won a free spot. He tried to get me to give my card details to hold my place. When I asked him to email me more info because I wasn’t home, he said everything’s done over the phone and that they don’t have a website. I haven’t had the chance to check with my friend yet because I’ve been really busy. Later, I looked up the number after another call from it and found out there *is* a Wimbledon photoshoot studio, but it’s a different number and they actually do provide info by email. So watch out - this number is definitely dodgy. Make sure you block it and report it!

My son recently went to Broadway Studios and honestly, the experience was lovely, very pampering and relaxing. But just a heads up, if you like the photos they take, be ready to spend a few hundred quid because they really push you to buy them. It's a great day out but the selling of photos is a bit relentless!
