I got a call from someone who weirdly knew where I lived but had no clue about the brand of my washing machine, which made me a bit wary. When I mentioned that my regular repair place sends me letters once the warranty’s up, she quickly jumped in saying they’re an eco-friendly company and don’t do that. I told her there’s loads of scams about these days and I wasn’t up for it, then she just hung up.

Just like other folks here, I got a call from someone with an Asian accent claiming to be from Domestic and General Insurance. The number they used was 01656 880868, and they've been ringing me for three days straight now, saying they're with Microsoft. Seems like a call centre messing about with different company names and UK landline numbers to confuse people.

I picked up a call from this number by mistake. The guy claimed to be from Domestic & General Care and was talking about some insurance for a washing machine. He had my name and address down, but when I asked which brand, he said it was a Beko. I told him he had the wrong address and we don’t own a Beko, then he just ended the call. Tried calling back but the number leads nowhere, obviously.

They told me mine had expired and asked me to cancel my direct debit while handing over my bank info. The second number seemed like a contact for call-outs or something. If I were older or unsure about my warranties, I might've easily handed over my bank details and lost £99. Proper dodgy if you ask me.

Got a call saying my washing machine warranty was about to run out in a couple days and asked if I wanted to extend it. I told them my washing machine was actually broken and asked to speak to their repairs team. Then they just hung up on me!
