She claimed to be calling about Council Tax banding, saying my house and others nearby are in the wrong band. Got a call from 02038873194 saying my council tax band was wrong. The woman went on about how back in 1991 they only checked the front of houses for banding, ignoring the full property. She mentioned a neighbour had successfully challenged theirs and got it lowered. I just said thanks, I'd check it out, then ended the call. Feels like a scam but she was so polite, honestly wish she'd find a proper job!

Just got a call like that too. I asked why they wanted £150, and they said it was to help get back some money we supposedly overpaid. I asked why we'd never received any letters about it and why they couldn’t just send a cheque instead. They said that wasn’t possible and wouldn’t work. Claimed to be working for the government.
