02038872237 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 02038872237 πŸ‘† is reported as a legitimate number used by Smile Fundraising to confirm direct debit donations made to various UK charities such as the Stroke Association, RNIB, National Deaf Children’s Society, and local hospices. Callers typically follow up after face-to-face engagements or canvassing, verifying donor details and expressing thanks. While genuine, some users find the frequency of these calls excessive, often receiving multiple unanswered calls daily with no voicemail, causing frustration. The calls do not request sensitive information, and callers provide appropriate details when questioned. Some reports note potential number spoofing or suspect silent calls, but overall, this number is associated primarily with charity donation confirmations rather than scams. New donors should remain cautious but can generally consider these calls authentic if they recently signed up to a charity scheme.

A bit ago I left a comment about chips with curry sauce showing up. Just wanted to add something about Smile Fundraising's phone number, 0203 887 2237. I looked it up on Google Maps and found Smile Fundraising does have offices in Coventry, Leicester and Newcastle Upon Tyne. The weird thing is, all their locations list the exact same number: 0203 874 6603. So if you’re giving money to the number 0203 887 2237, it looks like you’re getting scammed because that number isn’t even on Google Maps anywhere. Just a heads up for everyone out there!

Seems like it might’ve been a call checking up on a donation I made not long ago. Problem is, they didn’t bother to leave any message. My personal rule is pretty clear - if no message is left, I just don't bother calling back. I generally just ignore calls from numbers I don’t know unless they take the time to say what they want 🀷🏻‍♂️

They keep ringing me up at times when no one should really be calling, like well before 9 in the morning or after 5 in the evening. I reckon these might be scammers pretending to be from a legit number, since I've seen others mention the same number being for genuine calls.

I thought this call was to verify my charity donation. The caller asked all the usual questions to confirm and gave me proper names and info that seemed legit. I honestly didn’t doubt them or the group I donated to until I saw the comments here. Now I’m rethinking everything and probably gonna stop my donation since the charity they mentioned isn’t the one I gave to. Makes me pretty cautious now.

Got a call to verify a direct debit I supposedly set up with Smile Fundraising from a door-to-door guy who was asking for donations for the National Deaf Children's Society. Still not sure if it’s genuine since the guy had a badge and a tablet but wasn’t wearing any NDCS branded clothes. I’ll update once I find out if it’s legit or a scam.

Thursday was rather eventful with two calls coming in; I picked up one but all I got was silence, while I chose to let the other one ring out. On Friday, the phone buzzed with five calls-one that I missed completely and two more attempts where I was left unanswered. Saturday brought me just a solitary ring, but by the time I returned the call, it had gone cold with no reply. Then we hit Sunday, and wouldn’t you know it-absolutely nothing on the line!

seems like the call was from the national deaf children’s society, just checking if i’m signed up for donations. took ages to make sure it wasn’t a scam, then i tried calling them back on this same number but no luck. when i finally get through to ndcs, i’ll let them know that getting a random cold call from an unknown number isn’t the best way to reach me, especially with all the scams going round these days. it’s a legit number but that whole ‘follow-up’ thing is quite annoying!
