I ended up talking to some automated voice and it just kept repeating stuff about 'thatch the taste 1' or something like that. Definitely felt like a robot on the other end. Strange call to say the least!

Absolute nonsense, that! Not just London, it's rubbish all over the place, proper scumbags everywhere.

I've received multiple voicemails from a number purporting to be from HMRC, insisting I provide my personal information. They've sent me four messages over the last month, each more alarming than the last, ominously warning me about potential legal repercussions. Quite unsettling, to say the least!

A person claiming to be from HMRC phoned me, saying I owed taxes and would be arrested unless I paid £3900. They were really convincing and it scared me quite a bit. They kept trying to stop me from ending the call, which made me even more nervous.

I got a call today, and while chatting I quickly looked up the number online and found out it was a scam, so I just ended it. The person claimed I was in trouble for tax evasion with 5 supposed violations. He introduced himself as Jonathan Higgins, but his accent was clearly Indian, so the name felt off. He also gave me an ID and case reference number but it all seemed fake.

Got two calls today from someone claiming to be HMRC. They were trying to scare me into calling them back, saying stuff like "You better get ready." Pretty sure it’s a scam.

Got a voicemail from someone saying they were 'Officer Dennis Grey from HMRC', warning me I'd face legal trouble unless I called back. Obviously a scam.

Got a voicemail from someone pretending to be 'HMRC Officer Dennis Grey' warning me about legal trouble unless I phoned back immediately. Seems like a total scam.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Andrew Lobo at HMRC saying I was going to be arrested for tax fraud and that the court hearing was happening right away. They said due to COVID, no letters had been sent. It sounded so real and frightening at first, but luckily I found this blog and realised it was a scam.

I've blocked the number but somehow they still manage to leave voicemail, fantastic.

Got a recorded message from a woman with an American accent pretending to be from HMRC. She said I had to ring them "immediately" or get my lawyer to do so. It sounded just like other scam calls people have mentioned. Best advice? Don’t bother calling back.

Got a call from “HMRC”, but it was some robotic North American guy. Just like others have said, really pushy and threatening, totally a scam. Don’t fall for it!

Had a missed call earlier today from this number, and right away I guessed it was one of those dodgy calls. Later on, I refused another call from them, which dropped straight to voicemail. Left there was part of a recorded message, sounded like some American robotic lady pretending to be Dennis Grey from HMRC, threatening me to listen up or else face legal trouble. Proper dodgy stuff!

I got a call from someone claiming to be Officer Andrew Grey from HMRC, reckoning we owed tax and that we’d be arrested if we didn’t sort it out. Honestly, that threat could’ve completely wrecked our holiday in Hampshire. The bloke clearly had no clue who I was but kept insisting we’d end up behind bars if we didn’t pay up quick.

This number just rang me up saying I needed to ring them back or there'd be consequences. Well, I'm waiting to see what happens. Definitely sounds like a scam to me.

Got a recorded message from a posh sounding bloke saying it was from the Inland Revenue about my tax code. He told me to ring back on a different number he supplied. The message said there’d be no more warnings and that a lawyer would be contacted if I ignored it. Don’t fall for this, it’s a dodgy scam and you could end up losing a load of cash if you take it seriously!!!

I got a call from someone saying they were Dennis Grey from HM Revenue, but it was the most robotic voice, like it was from a machine. When I tried calling the number back, they just told me to check it myself by searching gov.uk or the number they mentioned on Google. Felt really dodgy to me.

My phone just rang and, like others mentioned, I had a bad feeling it was one of those scams so I didn’t answer. I’m gonna mark it down as harassment.

Got a recorded call just like someone else here mentioned recently, luckily their memory was better than mine to catch the details. A lady with a posh voice, claiming to be officer Dennis Grey from HMRC, telling me "ring us back! this is urgent. if neither you or your lawyer get in touch, prepare for legal trouble." I just tried calling my daughter from the same phone to make sure these scammers hadn't taken control of the line, which sometimes happens. Thankfully, the line was clear, so that's something to be grateful for.

I'm feeling quite skeptical about this. It’s being framed as urgent correspondence from the customers and the tax office, but it comes off as rather dodgy.

I just had a call myself stating it was urgent and time-sensitive. If this were genuinely from HMRC, they would send a letter rather than give you a ring.

Claiming to be from HMRC, this caller was relentless. They echoed the demands mentioned in earlier reviews, insisting I take urgent action, or else I'd be facing potential legal repercussions. Just yesterday, I received yet another dodgy call, again saying they were from HMRC, but this time it came from a different number: 0161 865 7602, based in Manchester. The message was alarmingly similar to the one I received today.
