Today I got caught out by a caller claiming to be from HSBC’s fraud dept. They sounded really believable and asked all the usual security questions. After the call I rang HSBC directly and they told me it was a scam. I feel daft because now I’ve lost some money to them. Just a heads up, if this number rings you, don’t answer or just hang up and ring HSBC yourself to check. HSBC have been really helpful sorting this mess out. Fingers crossed I see my cash again soon :(

Got a call on my home phone, they knew my name and address, claiming to be from Microsoft wanting to check my PC. I told the guy he had the wrong person when he asked if I was who he said, so he just hung up. Spoke perfect English and was quite composed, didn’t seem like a typical call centre.

Totally a scam, no doubt about it. The lady on the phone had no clue what kind of place I lived in. If it was a genuine call, surely they’d have that info to hand.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from a housing repair team. When I asked why they were ringing me, they said it was about repairs to the property I was renting. But I told them I don’t rent anywhere and just hung up. I’ve blocked the number now.

I saw the call pop up on my work phone but didn’t pick it up since hardly anyone has this number. I’ve got no contacts in London and none of our branches are there either. I decided to ignore the call and put the number on block.

Inquiring about maintenance for my social housing, I found myself in quite the predicament. When I requested to share my name, the lady on the other end abruptly hung up. It was rather disheartening, to say the least!

I've just received three consecutive calls from numbers I don't recognise. They seemed to be automated, so I decided not to pick up. I’m not one to entertain calls from strangers!

Got a call from this number on three different phones I own, but I missed it each time. Before I could even get to the phone being called, they ended the call. My mobile network actually flagged it as likely spam or fraud. I usually avoid picking up on these kinds of unwanted calls!

Got a call from this number so I called back. An automated voice with an American accent said something like 'thank you for calling Business Source International, press 1 or hold for an agent'. Definitely spam, so I’ve blocked it now.

Was just called three times back to back but I usually dont pick up if I dont recognise the number. Feels like one of those robot spam calls to me since they rang three times in a row.

Strangely reminiscent. The caller claimed to be reaching out from Birmingham, yet the number traced back to London. I mentioned it came across as rather dodgy and promptly ended the call.

I had a rather curious experience on the phone earlier. A lady with a noticeable Chinese accent called me up, claiming to be from some place I couldn't quite catch - it sounded like a jumble of words, to be honest. She was going on about how they could assist me with unsecured debts. Funny thing is, she didn’t even know my name! When I told her I didn’t have any debts to speak of, she switched gears and asked, "Well, do you happen to know anyone who does? Could you provide me with their number?" At that point, I simply ended the call. Quite the odd encounter!
