5 yearsGot a call early Saturday from someone saying my washer’s insurance was about to run out. The bloke said his name was Dean Winchester from Appliance Care 24+ and claimed his company handled repairs for my insurer. He said he needed to update their info as I was supposedly a UK customer. There was loads of background noise, like a call centre. I told him they already had my details so there was no need to confirm anything, and this sounded dodgy. He argued that it couldn’t be a scam since he knew my name and number. When I asked when I bought my washing machine, he said 2 years ago and claimed it was a Becko, both of which were wrong. I asked for his supervisor and he said he was both the supervisor and the line manager. As the chat went on, he got more and more pushy and rude.
