Received a phone call on Saturday morning from someone purporting to be Dean Winchester, claiming to represent Appliance Care 24+. He stated that my washing machine insurance was nearing its expiry. He insisted he needed to update his records since I was a UK customer, but the background noise resembled that of a call centre. I pointed out that he should already have my details, hence confirmation wasn’t necessary, and it sounded suspiciously like a scam. His response was quite brazen: if he already had my name and number, how could it be a scam? When I queried him about when I had purchased my washing machine, he inaccurately stated it was two years ago and that it was a Becko model-both completely wrong, mind you. I requested to speak to a supervisor, only for him to assert that he was both the supervisor and the line manager. As the conversation progressed, he grew increasingly pushy and aggressive. Eventually, I had to cut the call short.

Received a dodgy phone call regarding a supposed tax refund. They insisted that in order to process it, I’d need to verify my credit card information. I can't believe how these scams are aimed specifically at the elderly!

Could you possibly reveal the name of the sports facility?

This caller seemed to know my little girl's name and claimed it was related to PPI.

They were aware of my child's name, which has raised some serious concerns. There’s a chance that there's been a leak of information from the sports centre, as they seemed to have access to quite a bit of personal data. I've officially complained to the sports centre regarding this matter. The caller identified themselves as being from "hbs solutions" and mentioned something about reclaiming PPI. They made a claim that their information sources come from a free opt-in database, which I find rather dubious.

I received a phone call claiming I had won some compensation for a PPI case, which I found rather puzzling since I've never made any claims regarding PPI at all. When I inquired about how they obtained my details, they promptly hung up. Quite dodgy if you ask me!

The caller referenced a PPI claim and falsely asserted that I had previously submitted one, which is not the case. They knew my name but were quite evasive about how they obtained my information. The woman claimed her name was Crystal.

Just had a phone call moments ago. The caller knew my name, exactly like it's stated here - regarding an HMRC refund, whether I’ve been self-employed, and something about PPI! They mentioned that someone would ring me back in about half an hour. I told them to quit wasting my time and attempting to swindle me out of my money, and requested that they remove my number from their contact list.

This bloke clearly recognised my name and proclaimed it was my fortunate day, but I struggled to grasp what he was on about. It came across either as Chinese or something akin to it. There was such a racket in the background, it made it impossible to follow the conversation!

An Asian woman addressed me as Mrs followed by my first name, but then quickly caught her mistake and used my full name instead. The background noise resembled a hectic call centre! I didn’t say a word, and before I knew it, the line went dead.

I received a call from someone claiming to be from HSB Solutions, or something along those lines, asking for a young family member of mine. They mentioned they could assist me in reclaiming something, though I didn’t catch the details. It all seems rather fishy to me, especially since I can’t fathom how they obtained my number or even knew the child’s name. When I probed further about this, they insisted it was something I had agreed to-I absolutely haven't! Then they said my relative must have given my number-I'm certain that isn’t the case either!

Absolutely, they were keen to chat with my fourteen-year-old son and even had his name to hand.

They mentioned something about PPI, but I wouldn't engage with them after they claimed they'd obtained my number from some database. It's obvious I've never had any dealings with them whatsoever.

They mentioned something about PPI, but I chose to avoid any engagement with them as their questionnaire didn’t really apply to me. A few Asian women kept throwing around the word "Lovely" without actually responding when I inquired about how they obtained my number. I made it quite clear that I wasn’t interested in whatever they were offering, yet one of them insisted on having her colleague ring me back half an hour later!

When I picked up, they inquired about a name, claiming it was a wrong number. They went on to repeat the name, and I confirmed that they had indeed dialled the wrong digit. Just as I was about to end the call, they asked, “Is *name* a kid?”
