Been living in Australia for about 10 years now and outta the blue my UK mobile rings at 2 in the morning on 12th April 2025. Didn’t leave a voicemail or anything - pretty obvious it’s a scammer.

I got three calls from this number today morning. When I finally picked up, the person on the line was asking for someone I don’t know at all. I said they probably dialled the wrong number, but they just insisted it was correct and then hung up. Really strange!

Got a voicemail from someone claiming to be Officer Denise Gray with HM Revenue and Customs. They said it was urgent and if you or your lawyer didn’t call back, there’d be legal trouble. Totally sounded like a scam, especially with the weird American or Canadian accent they were putting on. Whoever that was seriously needs to sort themselves out, and maybe find a proper job if they ever get through this!

Got a call with some automated voice saying not to ignore it. Sounded exactly like others I’ve got before.

Got another one of those robotic voicemails today. The caller said they were Officer Denise Gray from HM Revenue and Customs, warning me about some urgent matter. They said if I or my solicitor didn’t call back straight away, there would be legal trouble. Obviously a scam, so I just blocked the number and moved on.
