A so-called Pharmacy called me up asking for personal info, claiming they needed it for some patient records. Felt a bit fishy to me!

Came back from holiday and noticed a voicemail on our home phone from someone named Charles speaking with a thick accent. He wanted to talk about a prescription medicine. I thought it was a London number at first and didn’t bother ringing back after seeing what others had said here. It’s odd he even knew our name, we only gave it once when we visited Boots in North Wales recently. With all the other warnings, I’m marking this as dodgy.

I just let it ring through to voicemail. The guy, Charles, had a thick accent and left a message saying he was calling about a prescription from a pharmacy. Didn’t bother calling back!

I received a call from a man named Charles, who had a distinctly Indian accent. He claimed there was a prescription item waiting for me and promised to drop it off the following day. I mentioned that I'd prefer to pick it up myself, and just like that, he ended the call. What’s worrying is that he knew both my name and address.

It's definitely a scam call. Quite coincidentally, the day after my visit to the Croydon area, I got a phone call. However, I have no links to Croydon and I certainly don't have any medication. When I attempted to call back the number, it seemed non-existent.
So, it's best to ignore it and continue with your life.

Somebody called claiming to be from a chemist, saying they'd send meds over the next day. They then asked if our visa card was still valid. My wife handed me the phone at that point. I saw the number was from a London code. When I started asking detailed questions, the person got all dodgy with answers. They spoke with an Indian accent. When I questioned why they needed my card details, I just told them to bugger off. Ended the call and blocked the number straight away.

A guy named Charles rang me from 02038732572, wanting my credit card expiry to supposedly sort out some medication for me. I'm 79 and I told him I never pay for meds because of my age. He kept pushing, but as soon as I mentioned I'd check with my local chemist about it, he just hung up on me.

I got a call from someone named Charles who somehow knew my address and full name. He said he was ringing from the chemist near me but didn't bother to say which one. Definitely felt like a scam, so I blocked the number and reported it straight away.

Got a call concerning some medication that I wasn’t expecting. When I mentioned that I wasn't in the market for anything like that and inquired about the details, the caller claimed it was a government initiative aimed at those over 75. I told them I wasn’t keen on it, especially since my local pharmacy and doctor hadn’t mentioned a thing. Clearly, it was all a scam!

This number keeps ringing me up, always talking about some prescription. It's clear they’re just trying to scam you by asking for personal details.

Just got a call from someone called Charles, claiming a prescription for me was ready at some chemist, but he wouldn’t say which one - only mentioned my local town and my address. I faked being a mate and said I wasn’t home. Then he asked if I was a carer! I told him my friend doesn’t need a carer and I’m pretty sure I'd know if they were on meds. I suggested it might be for my friend's lad instead, and he said he'd look into it and call back. If he actually rings me again, I’m definitely not picking up.

Alright, so Charles keeps ringing me up claiming he’s from the pharmacy nearby. What’s crazy is, I’d literally just placed an order for a repeat prescription through patient-services.co.uk. Feels like too much of a coincidence, like he’s got hold of their info somehow? He asked for my credit card expiry date, likely would have asked for the whole card number next. Didn’t give him a thing, obviously.

It was noticeable that Charles wanted to chat about my medication, but he had my name, address, and postcode straight off the bat. However, he failed to mention the name of the pharmacy he claimed to represent. To be frank, his English left much to be desired, and he waffled on endlessly about calling from “Smiths” chemist down the high street. I quickly caught on to his dodgy spiel and told him as much, at which point he promptly ended the call.

Got a call from 02038732472, some guy with an Asian accent who said his name was Charles and he was ringing from Boots pharmacy. He was talking about a prescription being delivered the next day. When he tried to confirm my address, I refused to give any details. Then he kept pushing me to say what the medication was called, but he couldn’t answer when I asked the same. After that, he just hung up on me! Bit cheeky if you ask me. Be careful, these scam calls are risky business.

I've just had a call from someone named John, but I swear it was the same person as Charles from before! He's really obsessed with medicine stuff, which kinda fits because he says he's ringing from some anonymous chemist company. Totally feels like a scam to me. The weird part is he has a name, address, and phone number, so maybe they've got all that info from the TalkTalk hack a while ago.

Got a call earlier today from someone saying it was about an unpaid prescription, just like others have mentioned here. What really unsettled me was that they already knew my name, my address, and even the pharmacy I normally use. Luckily, they didn’t try to ask for any payment info - I think they noticed I was a bit wary and held back.

I received a call from someone identifying himself as Charles, whose accent seemed to indicate he was from the Indian subcontinent. He alleged that he was associated with Lloyds Pharmacy located in Market Square. Much to my surprise, he mentioned my name and address, which raised some red flags. He went on to say that my medication was scheduled for delivery the following day and requested my card details. When I pressed him for more information, he abruptly ended the call. I received a call from a chap identifying himself as Charles, claiming to be from my nearby chemist. When I pressed him about the name of the establishment, he couldn’t provide an answer. I then noted that the number he was calling from didn’t match the pharmacy’s listed number, to which he rather vaguely replied it was a “direct line.” I countered with, “I beg to differ,” and he promptly ended the call. Regarding my previous post, I found that you can enter the scam details in a free text box on the Action Fraud reporting site. Even tho the box looks small, you can keep typing as much as you need. Just scroll down to the bottom of the mostly checkbox form to find this area. After you submit your report, have a look at the news section on their site. Then come back here and share how simple you found the reporting process. I’ve bookmarked the webpage on my laptop so I can report scam calls real quick from now on.

Got a call my mum, bloke knew her full name and where she lives. Said he was ringing from the local chemist about a medicine delivery. Then he tried to get her card info. Complete scam, no way we gave them anything! Total rubbish.

This was definitely a scam. They asked for my card info, claiming it was to cover meds from a nearby chemist. Honestly, every time these dodgy people pop up, we should be telling the cops. The police even have a special site just for making it easy to flag these frauds. Just type in 'action fraud' on Google and head over to the official UK police page. There’s a phishing reporting bit - you just scroll right to the end and fill in a quick form. The more we report these, the better chance we’ve got of shutting them down.

My 91-year-old mum got a call from some bloke claiming to be from a pharmacy about a special delivery of meds. Thankfully I was with her at the time. When I phoned the number back about thirty minutes later, there was no answer, as expected.

Received an alarming and unsettling phone call that caused distress. Charles contacted me, claiming to schedule the delivery of some medication that I hadn't received yet. Surprisingly, all the information provided seemed accurate, but I refrained from confirming anything. Upon further investigation, I discovered various reports of similar fraudulent incidents associated with the caller's number.

I got a call from someone named Charles who told me my meds would arrive the next day. Thing is, I wasn’t expecting any medication at all. He said it was something left over from my previous prescription, but when I asked him to tell me what medication it was, he just cut the call. Sounds like a total scam to me.

I got a call from a man with an Asian accent asking about medicine for a relative who actually died ages ago, like two years back. As soon as I asked which chemist and what medication, he just ended the call. Quite strange!

Got a call from someone saying they were delivering my meds. I had actually called my doctor and chemist earlier that day because I was missing two prescriptions, so it sounded believable. But then the caller asked me to give my card info, which I definitely wasn’t about to do. When I asked what the names of the meds were, he just ended the call. The voice sounded like an Asian accent. Kinda weird he knew about my missing meds unless it was some crazy coincidence.

Got a call from someone saying they had my meds sent to an old address I haven’t lived at for over a decade. Claimed they’d drop it off tomorrow since some stuff was missing. I told them straight up it sounded like a scam and then they just hung up on me.

WARNING: POTENTIAL FRAUD

Fraudulent telephone call, 27th January 2023, around noon.

A man claiming to represent the local pharmacy, "Rowlands," contacted our landline. He mentioned that he needed information regarding a prescription. As suspicion arose, he quickly revealed our address and loosely referred to medication for heart and blood pressure problems. It was evident that he was attempting to deceive us. The individual abruptly ended the call upon being asked why he was calling from a London phone number. Please be cautious and avoid providing any personal or sensitive information in such cases.

Got a call from an Asian man claiming to be from the local pharmacy, saying he needed to discuss my medication - which I don't take. He wouldn't tell me which chemist he was from. I kept asking who he was and why he was ringing, but he just hung up on me. The number wasn’t even local, so I blocked it straight away.

I picked up the phone and the person on the line gave me a name. They told me that the tablets would arrive the next day. Then they asked me to confirm the last four digits of my card, but I didn't give them. After that, they just said alright and ended the call.

Some bloke with a posh English voice rang me, said his name was Charles. He mentioned my home address straight away. Then he started asking about the meds I order. Luckily, the milkman turned up to collect his cash right then so I was able to end the call. At the same time, my two little terriers were going mad at the milkman outside, so I couldn’t really catch what Charles was going on about.

Got a call from this guy who sounded Asian, he said his name was Charles and that he was ringing from a pharmacy about a prescription I had pending. He asked if I’d be around tomorrow to pick it up. I said I’d grab it while I was out shopping. He actually knew my full name and address too. Bit odd, if you ask me.

Got a call around 10am today (03/11/2022) from someone claiming they’d be sending medication for my hip surgery aftercare. They wanted to know when I’d be home for the delivery and then asked for my credit card expiry date. That’s when I got suspicious and just ended the call straight away!

Got a phone call from a bloke who claimed his name was 'Charles', which didn’t really match his strong Asian accent. He already knew my name and said he was ringing from 'the pharmacy', mentioning I’d be getting a prescription delivered tomorrow. If anyone turns up at my door then, I’m not answering it. Anyone who won’t give a full name or where exactly they work has got to be a con artist. If you get a call like that, just hang up straight away.

Then he went on about needing my card info, that’s when I clocked it was a scam and just ended the call. I also mentioned we don’t have to pay for prescriptions here in Wales!

Like lots of others have said, I got a call from a South Asian bloke who said he was Charles from ‘your nearby chemist’, then switched to saying Boots when I questioned him. He knew my full name and address and was trying to get my card info. Of course, I couldn’t resist asking if his nan was aware he was up to no good.

Got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent claiming to be from the nearby Boots chemist. He knew my wife’s name and our address, said there were a couple of items to pick up, but only asked for our postcode. Kept wanting to talk to my wife, but I told him she wasn’t about. Then he just said goodbye and hung up. Double-checked with Boots and they confirmed nothing was waiting for collection - which I kinda expected. Not really sure what he was trying to get out of it.

I received a phone call from a gentleman with an Indian accent, who claimed to be calling from the pharmacy regarding certain medications that were unavailable during my last visit. Puzzled, I inquired about the specific pharmacy he was calling from. He replied it was my "local one," however, I found it rather odd that the number displayed on my phone was from London, contrasting my local area code. Sensing something amiss, I questioned him further, and he abruptly ended the call.
