Much like the comment before me, I got a really messed up recorded message from a woman pretending to be from HMRC. She warned me about terrible trouble if I didn’t ring her back. My daughter heard it and left it on the answerphone because she gets anxious easily and was quite shaken by all the threats. She focused a lot on the scary parts about the ‘consequences’. This kind of call isn’t right at all - someone ought to sort it out soon.

I got a message from what sounded like a woman supposedly from HMRC, but the voice was all crackly and messed up. She warned me about "serious consequences" if I didn’t ring back. Honestly, it was so obvious it was a scam - still, I bet some poor folks might get caught out by it.
