I received a phone call from someone purporting to be with a trust company. They mentioned that the paperwork wouldn’t be ready until Wednesday at the earliest, but they were optimistic about wrapping things up by Friday. They also indicated they would ring me back later this evening.

Got a phone call from a guy wanting info on someone who used to live at my address and apparently owned some Rolls Royce shares. I wouldn’t share their number but told him I’d pass on the message for them to get back. He gave me a dodgy number, which was clearly made up. He sounded really convincing though, so I can see how folks might accidentally spill their info!

I got a call from someone claiming to be from "Stemhord" (first he said "Stanfords") who gave me a made-up number, 020 85692324, when I asked for it. He mentioned the R Royce yearly report was going to be late and said his company handled the "analytics" for it, hired by them or something. Every time I tried to ask more or cut him off, he just ended the call out of the blue. Weird experience.

I recently encountered some rather smooth-talking con artists purporting to represent Stamford Wealth Management, pitching enticing 6% bonds linked to MTL Pharma.

Curiously, they insisted there would be no commissions involved whatsoever???

Just got a call from this number and when I picked up, all I could hear was quiet office noises before the line suddenly dropped. After seeing other comments here, it got me worried since I had contacted a real broker earlier today about transferring some shares, something I haven’t done in ages. Bit of a strange coincidence if you ask me, considering it’s all about share dealings.

Just like the previous instance, I received a rather intriguing offer from Alliance Trust. They usually reserve their advisory services for corporate clients willing to lay out at least 100 grand, yet they were willing to accommodate me with a mere £5,000. To say the least, I won't be answering that number again, nor will I entertain calls from 02080682227.

I got a call from someone claiming to be with Stanford Wealth Management, saying it was about Rolls Royce shares. They told me, as a shareholder supposedly, the annual report was delayed. When I asked what their connection to Rolls Royce actually was, they just said it was kind of a "loose" link. I ended the call there. Then my phone wouldn’t stop ringing for like another ten minutes. Definitely felt like a scam and just a massive nuisance.

Got a call earlier today from someone saying they were with Stamford Brook (?) dealing with BP’s yearly report, which apparently was going to be late. I told them there’s no way they’d ring every shareholder one by one about that! They chuckled and said they have a team for such calls and were only contacting long-term investors. Then they asked how I came to own BP shares and whether I preferred to get the report by post or email - they even read out my postal address, which was a bit unsettling. I said I was tied up with stuff and ended the call.

This guy has called me quite a few times, always polite at first, talking about some late annual report from BP. But when I told him to buzz off, he got pretty rude. Last year he kept ringing me every ten minutes for hours, so I just let the answerphone pick up. Now I’ve saved his number in my phone as BP SCAM, so I won’t be taking his calls anymore.

I received a phone call at 3:50 PM on the 23rd of March, 2017, from a rather self-assured gentleman who wanted to discuss our Shell shares with my husband. When I probed him for more details, he mentioned something about British Gas acquiring Royal Dutch Shell the previous year-doesn't quite add up, does it? I promptly asked him to send any information in writing. He was already aware of our address, which raised a red flag for me. He claimed to represent a company called 'Zenith', but a swift search online yielded no results for any organisation by that name, aside from Zenith Insurance. All rather dubious, if you ask me!

I received a phone call regarding a delay in the delivery of my Land Securities accounts, and the chap on the other end proposed to share some investment advice with me. Got a call where the guy knew my name and where I live. When I asked how he found out that info, he said he was from some firm that deals with company reports and mentioned something about a delay with a Royal Dutch share dividend, saying he needed my details to send some documents. The voice sounded quite posh English but there was maybe a slight Nigerian accent? I wasn’t having any of it and said no thank you. Seemed like a classic phishing scam to me. Stay away from these calls!!!

Someone called and had my wife's info, asking to talk to her. When I asked what it was about, he mentioned something about a delay in Royal Shell share dividends. I received a rather convincing call on the 26th of January 2017 from a chap who claimed to represent Williams & Chase Bank. He presented an enticing offer of a bond that supposedly grants a generous 6% interest rate for those of us holding Tesco shares for the long haul. He even provided a contact number (020 3868 9029) for any questions I might have. They mentioned they’d be dispatching some paperwork for me to fill out regarding this "investment"-as if! Earlier this week, I had a phone call from this number inquiring about my preference for receiving my Marks & Spencer report. I received a call supposedly about a hold-up with the corporate share report from Marks and Spencer, allegedly from a fellow named William Chase, claiming he needed to have a word with my elderly father. It was abundantly clear that this wasn't an official call from M&S. When I began to probe him for more information and challenged some of his statements, he became rather irate.
