I just can't figure out how they managed to get hold of my personal details so accurately. This has got to be some kind of scam, feels really dodgy.

I had the same experience with scammers, got an email from [email protected] (notice the extra ‘s’ in the address). They offered a phone deal that was way too good to believe. They sent me a phone, but it was the wrong model. Then they asked me to send it back to some address in Birmingham. I rang up Vodafone myself and they said there was an order for a phone and a line in my name. Luckily, I returned the phone directly to a Vodafone store and avoided being charged £56 a month for 2 years for a contract I never agreed to, set up by the scammers.

So some lot rang me saying they're from Carphone Warehouse, trying to sell an upgrade. They spoke with a heavy Indian accent, which kinda made me suspicious straight away. Honestly, if Carphone Warehouse were legit, wouldn’t they have staff with proper local accents? These deals sounded way too good to be true anyway, so I just hung up. Classic scam move to try gain your trust with classy sounding offers!

Got a really annoying call from someone claiming to be with Carphone Warehouse. When I checked their email, it was from carsphonewarehouse - that's with an extra 's' between car and phone. Definitely felt off.

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent who said they were ringing from Carphone Warehouse, trying to push me some upgrades. Then they emailed me a confirmation about the deal and asked for £49.99 upfront as a sort of security fee, taking my card details too, saying it’d be given back within a day. But if you check the email closely, it's actually from carsphonewarehouse.com, not the legit carphonewarehouse. They ended up taking money from my account without permission. Just a heads up, watch out for this scam!

They claimed to be calling from Carphone Warehouse. Initially, a woman chatted with me before handing the call to a bloke (could’ve been her partner). They tried to sell me a great offer on a Samsung S20 Plus but wanted a deposit first, promising to give it back once the phone arrived. Then they asked for my card info. I guessed straight away this wasn’t legit. I ended the call and rang the actual Carphone Warehouse to double-check - they confirmed the call wasn’t from them at all.
