Just received an unsolicited call regarding our washing machine's warranty, which has been kicking about for a solid 20 years now. Quite amusing really!

Got a call from a landline on the 19th of October, but they didn’t say anything or leave a message. I usually ignore numbers I don’t recognise and if they ring me again, I’m just gonna block them.

So, this bloke rings claiming my washing machine cover was about to run out, even though I let it lapse like two years back - obviously using old details. He never said who he was or where he was calling from at first. After I pressed him, he said his name was James and mentioned "CoverPlan." I quickly told him I’m on the telephone preference service and don’t do marketing calls. Then the tosser just hung up on me. Number’s blocked now. Total scam, for sure. Next time, I reckon I’ll keep them chatting and waste their time as much as I can.

They rang but I never picked up and there was no voicemail, so I've gone ahead and blocked the number.

I don’t recognize the number at all, and they didn’t leave any voicemail. Just noticed a couple of missed calls, might be one of those automated spam calls.

Got a call from 02038678529 about my washing machine warranty being expired. They claimed I wasn't covered anymore. I asked if they were from Domestic and General, and as soon as I questioned them, they just hung up. Rang Domestic and General myself afterwards and they confirmed it's a scam. Stay careful folks!

I received a call regarding my washing machine warranty, but to my bewilderment, I couldn’t even remember the brand! Clearly, it’s a bunch of scammers trying their luck. 19th October 2021.
