18/05/22 A man rang me about the same issue, claiming to be from Domestic Appliances, saying my washing machine insurance was about to run out. When I told him I didn’t have any insurance on it, he just cut the call. He even mentioned my name and address, asking me to confirm, which I refused. Why would he need me to verify info he already supposedly had? There have been a few break-ins nearby lately, so I’m quite wary when stuff like this comes up. At least this number isn’t blocked like many scam calls are, so it’s easier to track.

Got a call from this number today, the bloke claimed he was from Domestic Appliance, knew my name and address and said my washing machine insurance was ending today. I told him I don’t have any insurance. He insisted I took it out three years ago. I told him I didn’t. I said his info must be wrong, I wouldn’t insure my washing machine as it’s really old, I’m just waiting for it to break so I can replace it. Then he just hung up on me.

Today (21/05/2018), I got a call from 0203849473 claiming to be from "Domestic Appliances." They said my washing machine warranty payments were about to end and, since I hadn’t needed any repairs, they were lowering the cost by £24 a year or £2 a month on my Direct Debit. I told them I never arranged anything like that with my bank and asked for a proper renewal notice. Suddenly, the caller got a bit irate and insisted I give him my sort code and account number to keep the coverage going. I stood firm on wanting the renewal notice first. This definitely seems like a scam.

Got a call a couple weeks back, they said it was about insurance for a new washing machine. I told them I never bought one and they just ended the call. 0203 849473 & 0203 274860 - A British bloke and lady pretending to be from D&G washing machine cover (which I don’t even own). I called D&G on their main number 0800 5614493 just to check it was legit. Turns out it wasn’t, the person on the other end said they’ve had loads of complaints about these calls. Honestly, it ticks me off that they’re using a real company’s name to scam folks, and even more that they keep phoning me (I just keep blocking). Not sure who’ll give up first! :)

Got another call from these muppets saying my fridge wasn't covered by warranty anymore. I said it was, and he insisted it wasn’t. I asked where he got that info from and he said he had the records right there. If that were true, he’d realise mine came with a 5-year warranty and it’s only a year and a half old. Ended up hanging up on them once more.

Got a ring from 02038 49473, some bloke saying our wash machine insurance was about to end and he could give a special deal for £9.99 a month if we set up a Direct Debit right away. He also said they don’t send reminders now. When I told him we already had insurance and things didn’t sound right, he just hung up. Definitely a scam, so that number’s blocked.

Most of the time it’s some bloke ringing up with a "survey" about your household gadgets asking stuff like how old they are and what brand. Then a few days later they call again, trying to sell you a warranty that’s supposedly just expired. Now, when I get those survey calls, I just tell them wrong details about the gadgets' ages and brands, so I can spot their scam when they ring back about the warranty.

I picked up and this young bloke mentioned my last name and said he was ringing from D.A.G repairs. Then he told me “we’re the firm sorting out your washing machine after a breakdown”. I told him “I don’t think that’s right” and he just hung up. Doesn’t sound genuine at all and it’s a bit worrying they know some of my name.

Got two calls from this number within a day. Thankfully, I always keep caller ID on and my answerphone running. If the number isn’t familiar, I just check it on this brilliant site and from what other people say, it's about washing machine insurance. Would definitely suggest having caller ID and an answerphone - it really helps you avoid any bother and feels a lot safer.

this bloke said he was from d&g and phoned to say my washing machine warranty had just expired and i needed to renew it. when i asked the price he said £89 and that he could arrange it straight away over the phone using my card. sounded legit at first but my washing machine is actually 13 years old, so well beyond warranty. i told him i’d call back if I was interested. glad i trusted my instincts as it seemed fishy. i also tried calling the number back but it was dead.

I got a call sayin there’s cover for my washing machine if it breaks down, tryin to sell me a discount on renewal n that. I asked how i'd even pay for it since the machine is like 15 years old and we don’t have any service fees.
