Some bloke said he was ringing from Amazon, but there was loads of noise in the background. He claimed someone was trying to use my account. I told him I was actually on the Amazon website checking, and there wasn’t any order for over £600, so he was clearly lying. Then he just told me to “F*ck off” and ended the call.

I use a blocker and VIP feature, so my phone never rings from them and I don't get any voicemails either. Feels like it’s probably a scammer trying to get through.

Got a call from a bloke claiming to be from Amazon, sounded foreign. He asked if I had an Amazon account, I said no. Then he mentioned someone was using my address, which he somehow knew. Saw a BBC show on scam call centres not long ago, so I knew straight away it was dodgy. Told him "Scam off" and hung up. End of.

Got a call earlier from 0918 but Call Guardian picked it up and blocked it. No voicemail left or anything. I tried ringing back but nobody answered, so I left a message saying the number’s blocked.

I didn’t pick up the call as I didn’t recognise the number, and since I’ve had calls like this happen before, I’m pretty convinced it’s a scam.

Received a call with no one on the other end. Likely a dodgy attempt at a scam, I reckon.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent saying she was from the Telephone Preference Service. My phone battery was dying so the call dropped but I was going to hang up anyway. Definitely sounded dodgy, must be a scam.

Somebody called saying they were Nicholas from the Telephone Preference Management, the lot who supposedly block nuisance calls. But actually, the Telephone Preference Service doesn’t block calls itself, so I was pretty doubtful right away. Plus, when a guy talks with a strong foreign accent and insists he’s Nicholas, it just sets off alarm bells for me.

This number keeps ringing me up, saying they've stopped some sort of international scam or something. They keep telling me my card details have been changed and that I've apparently signed up for something. Then they ask if I want to renew it. Pretty suspicious if you ask me.

My 86-year-old mother has received calls from this number six times in just the last couple of days on her mobile. Thankfully, I've been around to end those calls, but she wasn't so fortunate last week when she answered another 020 number.

Got a call from some dodgy bank scammers using the name Nicholas Grey from 2nd floor College House, 17 King Edward Road, London. They already had loads of info like my 89 year old dad’s bank details and address, and just wanted him to confirm it all. They said it was a UK government-backed marketing deal and were offering a £100 Tesco or Asda voucher. They gave a callback number 0203 983 7866, which I later found out is connected to scams too. Luckily, my dad spoke to his bank straight away and had his card cancelled.

Got a call earlier from someone saying they were with Virgin tech support, said there were people illegally using my internet and they needed to do some checks. I asked for a contact number to ring back if the call dropped, and they gave me a number, but when I asked again it was different, then different again after the third time. All the while, they kept pressing me about how many devices I had connected. Seems like one of those common scams I've heard about online. I just told them I'd call Virgin support myself to deal with it and ended the call politely. Bit of a laugh really.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from Sky about my broadband not working. She wanted me to switch on my laptop, but I told her I didn’t own one. Then she asked if I had a mobile, I said no to that too. After that, she just hung up. Does she seriously think I’m that daft?

So, this caller rings me roughly every three weeks, speaks with a foreign accent that's quite hard to follow. They say they’re from Sky and there’s some problem with the signal. I do have Sky, but haven’t had any signal trouble so far. Feels like a scam to me. We moved recently and Sky sorted the broadband at the new place too. Only a handful of people have the new landline number, and it’s unlisted. How on earth did they get hold of it? It’s proper suspicious.

I recently encountered some chaps from India who were masquerading as representatives of Sky Broadband. They claimed that their engineers had been keeping an eye on my internet connection. When I inquired about the reasons behind this so-called monitoring, the bloke became quite aggressive and raised his voice. I firmly but courteously requested him to lower his tone, as I was remaining calm, only for him to abruptly terminate the call. Quite the audacious tactic, I must say!

Received a rather dubious call from someone posing as Sky Broadband, claiming they wanted to assist with an upgrade to our router. I received a call claiming to be from the Sky technical department regarding "issues with your internet/broadband." However, I'm not the one who pays the bills and despite that, they keep pushing to carry on with the conversation.
