They claim to be from some company called 'Consumer UK'. Been pestering my Mum nonstop, ringing her loads and sometimes really early in the morning. The voice always sounds like it's from abroad. Mum’s on the TPS, but they refuse to accept complaints about these so-called 'market research' calls.

They keep ringing like two or three times daily, even after we told them to stop 'cause this number ain't linked to Mr Watson anymore. Doesn't seem to matter though. Whenever I ask who's calling, they give some random English name, but I can tell from their accent and the office chatter behind that it's definitely an Asian person on the line. Threatening to report them to Ofcom doesn’t change a thing. Now, if I pick up and there's not someone right there, I just hang straight up. After six months with this new number, I'm seriously thinking about getting a call blocker because this is really getting on my nerves.

These people are absolute con artists. It's horrible how little they care about older or vulnerable folks. They keep harassing the most fragile without giving a damn about how upsetting it is. My mum got called 14 times in just one month! I was so fed up I ended up getting a Truecall device for her phone. It's brilliant, you can see all the calls and where they’re coming from (places like USA, India, Canada, Egypt, Hawaii and loads of UK numbers as well). When they ring, you note down the time and then you can easily blacklist the number. It doesn’t stop the calls completely, but the Truecall blocks the ringing and immediately disconnects after telling the caller to buzz off. Honestly, it’s a pity that BT, Ofcom or some other official body can’t do something to put a stop to this nonsense.

Today I got a call from these people who claimed that if I answered a few questions, they’d stop bothering me with calls. I told them, as politely as I could, that I wasn’t going to answer their questions or anyone else's. I also said I’d be reporting them for trying to bully me and told the guy to pass the message up to his bosses. This kind of threat and pressure is just not on.

Not sure who they are but got these bt8500 phones back in December 2014, and never had an issue since. No calls get past their automated blocker on the phone base, it's brilliant. It also stops all the other annoying calls as well!

They ring all the time. I’ve told them loads of times to take me off their list but I’m still getting calls. It’s mostly an Asian guy with a very English sounding name and he always says they’ll delete my details if I finish the survey. Most times I just hang up on them.

Maybe I’m just being overly cautious, but this phone number rang just seconds after I turned off my PC, right after a dodgy "Windows Tech Support" scam call. They asked for me by my full name straight away. When I asked who was on the line, all I got was a weird recording saying “please enter your PIN” or something like that! Honestly, you couldn’t make it up!

This number rang me earlier and it didn’t show up as anyone I know so I answered but hung up pretty quick. Then within seconds it rang again, I just let it go to voicemail. It called straight back and some guy with an Indian accent asked if I was Mr ##is##¢. I said no, he asked again and I said no a bit louder. The third time I said no quite firmly and he started swearing at me, telling me to f*** off and calling me names. Completely out of order. I’ve reported it to Ofcom and BT.
