Got a call here in the Netherlands. They spoke English but definitely sounded like they were from India. They pretended to be doing a survey for the Financial Times, asking about my savings and investments, which I don’t have. They did know my last name, but rang my work number, so they must’ve found it on some public directory or website. Seems like they’re trying some social engineering tactic to craft more convincing phishing emails later. I’ve emailed the FT to check if they actually run any surveys like this.

After that, you might get a follow-up 'Cold Call' from a con artist trying to get you to put cash into some shares based on what they told you before. If u send any money, especially overseas to East Asia, you’ll just lose it. Best avoid it completely.

Had a ring on 19th Jan 2016 here in Switzerland. A woman with an Asian accent claimed to be doing a survey for the Financial Times. They mentioned my name, but honestly, that's easy to find in the Swiss phone directory. The call quality was awful and then it just went quiet. I ended the call before she could ask anything.
